Chapter 2: History

Flashback. "As your father and alpha, you must know exactly why we left the pack," my father said to me quietly. I nodded my head waiting for him to keep going. "Years ago, when I first became the alpha, I had recently met my mate, and this made me happier than ever. She was so beautiful and she was everything I would have asked for. But unfortunately,y I was not enough for her father to accept." He continued, "At the time, our pack was not well expanded, and she was the daughter of the alpha of the pack, the Dark Cloud pack, which was one of the biggest neighboring packs. She was expected to be married off to a great suitor." "This of course angered me greatly." I simply sat there, listening to him intently. "Why would he be so vehement in taking my mate away?" Father stopped for a short breather. I was still very anxious to hear more. And he went on, "Weeks later, Nali, my mate went to visit her father and to officially tell him she would not return to the pack. She would tell him she had decided to stay with me." "I had insisted on going with her but she assured me she would be alright and so I let her go. Little did I know that letting her go in that moment meant letting go of my mate forever." "Weeks after, this pain throbbed through me inside and out because at this point it was reported to me with proof that she was dead." My father that day had told me how he later met my mother who after a year of knowing each other married him and became Luna of our pack, the Alpine Pack. As the years went by, our pack grew into one of the most important packs in the region. But after years, my father discovered that his mate, Nali, was alive. She had become a rogue after her father's betrayal, and this was now the reason we were on the run. She had become a ritter over the years. The years in which she had been running the Rogue pack. Her plans all these years have been to destroy my father and his pack and to of course get her mate back. But because he has been married all these years, her main plan has been to kill his wife, my mother, and get her rightful place in the pack as Luna. This, onowns ow,n did not sit well with my father. So, we ran. Not because we were cowards, but because my mother's life meant everything to my father.
