[Warning: This Chapter contains bloody scenes.] The lift opened and we got out. I was unsatisfied being left hanging with unfulfilled desires, when I was already picturing how intense and mind-blowing the kiss would be, inside that small place, with just the two of us. And from then on, I vowed never to get locked in one place with this man. It was tempting as hell. "Wait for me here," I heard Alaric saying, and before I could even reply, he was already walking away from me. "Don't move." He added that they had disappeared behind a corner. I was left stupefied and angry. Then what was the use of his bringing me there? Watching him slaughter people seemed like it. It felt like he was trying to instill fear in me about what he would do to me if I crossed him. I paced up and down for a few minutes and finally lost patience. If he wanted to scare me, then he should do it thoroughly. I followed the way he had gone and was welcomed by a long hallway lit brightly. I hastily but warily walked forward while trying to listen to any sound. The place was oddly quiet, but that did not stop me. After reaching the end of the hallway, I took the stairs that were on my right, and I could now hear some faint noise of things crashing. I climbed up following the sound till I came to a hall that was quite huge but dimly lit. I scanned the area and my eyes landed on a figure I recognised instantly. It was Ala, Ric, and he seemed to be pinning someone to a chair. I frowned and took a step forward, but I stepped on something. Following my feet, I saw a, body and beside it was an, other and then a,nother and another. In short, the entire floor was filled with corpses. My breath hardened whilleapedtook, a leap, wondering if I had done this all by myself. Was he even human? The largest number of people I could handle at once was fifteen to twenty, but this, a herd of armada, was lying there breathless. After a lot of consideration, I walked over the corpses one after the other till I was a few metres away from Alaric and whoever he was with. The person was breathing unevenly with painful groans escaping his lips while holding Alaric's wrist, which was tearing his stomach. "Leave me... I won't do it... Again, please," the man was pleading with tears flowing endlessly, which shocked me to the core. "I won't give you the chance to." Alaric mercilessly tore his stomach, ach, but still did not stop there. He dipped his palm into the open and, omen making the man scream terribly in pain. I stood there motionless as I watched every single thing. My heart turned numb while my mind became blank. Engrossed with the scene before me, I did not see the man who was walking behind me and holding a knife to my neck. "Leave him or I'll kill her," the man holding me shouted to Alaric. If I wanted, I could free myself in an instant, but I just stood still waiting to see if what I had seen earlier was just a fragment of my imagination. I wanted to see iflly had inhuman speed like I had seen before. "Go ahead," but then came Alaric's blunt answer as he made the man before breatheeath his last. I did not understand why, but his words made my heart ache. I gritted my teeth lat looking at him who was turning our back to us as if not wavered even a bit. In a flash, I held the man's hand before taking the dagger from him. Though I could see he was startllungedmatched tow, ards me launching atfist on my face, but I swiftly evaded and held his. Angrily, I stabbed his hand thrice as if I was chopping some veg, gies then pushed him away. Unfortunately for him, he still came, at me irking me more. "Choose your battles wisely." I held his other hand, then slit his throat, and his blood splashed on my face and clothes. "Fuck." I dropped the knife on top of his body, wiping off the stains on my face. I had fled from the camp because I was fed up with bloodshed, but it seemed my destiny had been written down with blood. I could run, but it would always follow me. "You aren't that bad," Alaric's voice broke my stupor, but I just glanced at him before walking away. I went back to the lift, and before it could close, Alaric placed his hand in between, and they went in. There was an uncomfortable silence between us that made my anger rise even more, as I waited for him to apologize, but he just kept mum. "What if he had killed me?" I broke the silence, since staring anywhere but at him. "Good." "Good? What's that supposed to mean? You fucking brought me here to get killed?" I heaved up and down, trying not too not have an outburst, though I so much wanted to choke him to death. He would have at least pretended to care even if he did not, right? "I don't keep weaklings around me." That was his answer. "You..." I went quiet when the lift opened, and he went out. I huffed before following him silently. It was better that way than talking to this robotic man who would just anger me with every word he uttered. We went back to the car and got into the back seat. As far as I remembered, the driver had been shot earlier. I had seen it with my own eyes how he was dragged by those, but now, he was sitting in the driver's seat as if nothing had happened. "Do you plan to stand there the whole day?" Alaric's irritated voice brought me back from the shock, and I got in the car immediately. My eyes were glued to the driver as I watched him start the car and drive normally. How was this possible? Did he havbulletprooflvestroof or something? But from the way he was bleeding earlier, it didn't seem so. "Mr. Driver, aren't you supposed to be dead?" I murmured loudly, and the driver's silent chuckle made me realize what I had just said. "Am fine, ma'am," the driver replied. "But they shot you, and you were bleeding profusely. I couldn't have been imagining all that, right?" I was shocked and wanted to understand how he did that. This was the second time I had seen speedy recovery. It first happened with Alaric last night, and now his driver. "Ma'am, isn't it because we are..." "Shut up! Both of you!" Alaric interrupted. I was about to retort when the man shot me a warning glare. "Don't say a word." H, added, earning a scoff from me. "I wasn't planning to," I murmured and looked outside the window. After hours of driving, the car came to a stop outside a mansion. "Boss, we are here," the driver informed Alaric, who opened his eyes instantly and got out of the car. Ravenna followed but leaned on the door as she stared at the palace-like mansion before her. "Is this your place?" The amazement in her voice could not be missed. Alaric felt some satisfaction watching hadmireing his men, but masked his emotions well. "Mmh." "This place looks like a castle. Are you a king or something?" She was in awe and did not realize she was already making her way towards the door. "What if I say I am a king?" Alaric walked behind her with a slow pace, watching her face make different feelings of awe and happiness. "I already know. Finn told me about you," she replied, her attention on the two pillars that were outside the door, supporting the building. "He did?" Alaric raised his brow suspiciously, waiting for her response. "Yes, she did," she replied, placing her hand on the pillar, then turned around, leaning her back on it as she stared at him. "He told me you are the king of the..." Ravenna paused, lost in his approaching figure. She swallowed before taking a deep breath. "King of the?" Alaric retraced her words with a deep, soft voice. See how much he had an effect on her. The moment she gazed at him, he noticed she would get lost in admiring him or, rather, scrutinizing his body like a predator about to pounce on him. For some reason, he liked it. That lining her eyes made him want her as much as she wanted him. Her lips were the most tempting, and since he had a tthaththethat urge to taste them again kept increasing once he locked his gaze with hers. The feeling of her in his arms felt so good and complete that he wanted to hold him so she would no, leave even if she wanted to. This feeling was not something he felt for other women, but he thought maybe it was because of her rebellious nature, which aroused the ego in him to tame her. With a genuine half smile, he placed his right hand above her head, which was leaning on thepillowar before whispering in her ear, "You haven't answered my question." Subconsciously and unaware, Ravenna opened her mouth and replied, "King of seduction."
