Chapter 3: Mr. A.S.S.

Words : 1189 Updated : Aug 18th, 2025
The shining morning rays woke me up. I had spent the night on the balcony, on a small couch that was luckily there. To think that this was the first night I had moved to City X and had to endure all night cold because of a certain someone, worsened my mood. It was time to get answers and compensation. Furiously, I stomped towards the bedroom, ready to break it down, but to my surprise, the door was slightly open. It seemed the stranger man had already woken up. My pace slowed, then I walked into the bedroom without making a sound. My eyes first landed on the bed, and it was neatly made as if it was empty the whole night, and was also oddly quiet, just like that silent stranger. It was after a few minutes of searching did I realized there was no being in the bedroom. To make sure the man had left, I looked all over the house, but he was nowhere to be seen. Aside from anger from earlier, I felt complicated feelings gush inside me as if I had lost something important, but the only logical reason was that the person was too handsome and had triggered my attraction towards handsome guys. Yes, that way it. Brushing those thoughts, I was about to head back to my bedroom for a shower when I spotted a white paper on the table. Curiously, I took it, and there were three capitalized words and two abbreviated words on it. 'SEE YOU SOON.' I blinked my eyes twice before rereading it again and again, but I could not find what I was looking for. An apology or maybe a thank you ot calling the cops on him. And what did he mean by seeing you soon? Was he going to crash into my penthouse again? It's not like I would mind. Who would not want such a hottie as their roommate? I bit my lower lip with the thought, but then, there was one problem. His arrogance. Even though he seemed like the silent one, once he opened his mouth, he could make one cough blood out of anger. Arrogant, Silen, and yet Seductive. What a combination. Staring at the paper one last time, I folded it before disappearing back to the bedroom. I had a long day ahead of me. A very long one. An hour later, I was standing outside the headquarters of Morning Star Cooperations. My half face was covered with a cap and an oversized hoodie on top. Down, I had baggy blank pants and a pair of sneakers. In my hands, I was carrying two bags full of gifts to pacify someone up there. I had to because I knew it was just a matter of time for him to discover I had come to City X, though I was not allowed to. I walked inside the building, chanting self-encouraging words. As expected, I could feel strange stares on me, but I cared less. I glanced around before heading to the receptionist. "Excuse me, please. Is Mr. Finn Nightveil around?" I whispered to the receptionist, who responded with a strange look. "Yes, he is, but..." Before she could complete, I was already walking towards the lift, which I had spotted the moment I arrived. Before coming here, I had already done my research thoroughly and had already decided which floor to find that person. He was the vice president of Morning Star and was therefore located on the thirty-sixth floor below the president's, whom I had never met. Upon entering the lift, I could see the security guards trying to catch up to me, but it closed before they could get in. Inside the lift, I started rehearsing my lines on how to calm the person down. "Finn, ly missed you and was dying to see you. That's why I ran away from that damned place. Do you know how much I was tortured there... sob... Look how thin I have become because of that stupid, sorry, I mean...good teacher. Please don't send me back...sob... Damn it! To hell with stupid tears, why can't they just come out when needed?" The sound of the lift opening brought me back to reality before stepping out. The place was quiet with only a few busy people sitting at their desks. On my right side, I saw the office with the vice president label, and a thin sweat ran down my spine. With one deep breath, I walked towards the office and knocked. A deep, familiar voice resonated in my ear, asking g to come in. I took light steps, not making any sound, and walked in. As usual, he was buried in his papers as if they were the source of his life without a concern for the outside world. I gulped, ready to announce my presence, but... "You came earlier than I expected." I held my breath, understanding he was already expecting me. What else? That stupid teacher would have already informed him that I had escaped. If only I were capable enough to beat the hell out of that ice teacher... I shook my head to keep off any negative feelings for now. I had an important task ahead. It was time to put my rehearsals to good use. "Finn, I..." But it failed. He made a phone call and gave instructions asking the guards to turn off the security alarm. It seemed I had created quite a ruckus for him to do that. I was about to continue when he beat me to it. "Don't even start with me." I shut up and closed my eyes tightly, waiting for the lecture to come, but I was only met with silence. Slowly, I opened my eyes only to be met with Finn's blank face. I pursed my lips, and before I could utter a word, he engulfed me in a light hug, rubbing my hair continuously. I'm okay, Finn. You don't need to worry anymore," I patted his back, thanking the heavens for this great favor. I did not do anything and was just forgiven like that? I snuggled close, feeling my eyes tear up with emotions. "I'm just thinking what punishment will suit you best," and there it went, my joy. My hands fell before pulling away from him. It was time to activate my acting mode. "Sob... Is this how to treat your little sister who has just come for your sake? First, you abandoned me, then when cameme to see you, this is what I got. It's okay, I understand that you don't love me anymore...sob...I'll just leave and go far away where you'll never see me again. Never...sooooob..." "What's with the annoying cry?" Someone entered the office and asked. But what caught my attention was the familiarity in that voice. I turned around, and my eyes went wide open while my body froze. "Mr. A.S.S..?" And there stood the beautiful stranger from last night.
