by Jayden 18:10,Sep 19,2023
After William Zhan stepped into the Rolls-Royce, he quietly instructed, "Remember to drive the Dongfeng commercial vehicle I purchased."
This was a ruse to deceive his wife. What was his wife's name?
"By the way, what is my wife's name?"
William Zhan wasn't keen on obtaining the marriage certificate. When Grandma saw the marriage certificate, it seemed she hadn't returned it to him. Anyway, he didn't have a marriage certificate now.
The bodyguard said, "The eldest young matriarch's last name is Hai, and her given name is Mila. She is twenty-five years old this year. Sir, you must remember her name."
William Zhan had an excellent memory but couldn't recall the names of people he didn't want to remember.
He might not know their names, especially when it came to women; even if he saw them daily.
"Yeah, I remember."
William Zhan nonchalantly hummed.
From the tone of his voice, the bodyguards could tell that William Zhan would likely forget his eldest mistress's name next time.
William Zhan didn't want to be bothered by Mila Hai, so he leaned back in the car seat and closed his eyes to rest.
Guan City Hotel was only a ten-minute drive from Minyuan Graden.
The luxurious car fleet pulled up at the entrance of Minyuan Graden, and William Zhan drove the Dongfeng commercial vehicle into the community on his own.
Although he couldn't remember his newlywed wife's name, William Zhan recalled the house he had bought.
Soon, he was back at his house's door and noticed a pair of very familiar slippers placed there. Were those his slippers?
How had they ended up outside?
Mila Hai must have thrown them out!
William Zhan's eyes turned cold, and his handsome face tensed. He was initially grateful to the girl who had saved his grandma, but as his grandma kept praising her and urging him to marry her, he lost interest in Mila Hai.
He thought that Mila Hai was a cunning girl.
Although he had ultimately agreed to his grandma and married Mila Hai, he had made a deal with her. After the marriage, he would conceal his identity and scrutinize Mila Hai's character. If Mila Hai passed the test, they would become a real couple and live together.
He wouldn't hesitate to take stern measures if he discovered that Mila Hai was genuinely cunning.
Anyone daring to scheme against him and William Zhan wouldn't meet a pleasant fate!
Taking out the key, William Zhan attempted to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. His dissatisfaction grew when he realized the woman inside had locked the door.
This was his house!
He had allowed her to move in, yet she was barring him from entering!
In his irritation, William Zhan loudly kicked the door.
Simultaneously, he made a voice call to Mila Hai.
Learning from past incidents, he had added a name to Mila Hai's WeChat profile, specifically appending the word "wife." Otherwise, he'd struggle to remember who Mila Hai was and inadvertently delete her from his WeChat friends.
Mila Hai was awakened by the sound of William Zhan's kicking.
Who was banging on the door in the middle of the night? Couldn't they let people sleep?
Mila Hai was a little angry as she got up, annoyed at being woken up. She lifted the blanket and came out in her pajamas, her irritation palpable.
She had left her phone in her room and didn't know when William Zhan had made a voice call.
"Who is it? Why are you banging on my door in the middle of the night?"
Mila Hai swung the door open. At first, she was scolding the man standing there. When she saw him clearly, she was stunned. She stared at William Zhan for a long time before she realized what she was doing. She smiled and said, "Mr. Zhan, it's you."
William Zhan had made a voice call, but she hadn't answered, and the anger inside her was building.
At this moment, she was too irritated to engage with Mila Hai. With a stern expression, he brushed past her and went straight into the house.
Mila Hai discreetly stuck out her tongue.
This was the aftermath of a whirlwind marriage.
She went outside to check. Thankfully, the loud banging by William Zhan hadn't woken the neighbors.
Seeing the pair of slippers at the door, Mila Hai bent down, picked them up, returned to the house, and locked the door again.
"It was already early morning when I came back. When I saw you weren't home, I thought you wouldn't return tonight, so I locked the door."
Mila Hai explained.
"I'm the only woman in the house. For safety reasons, I picked up a pair of your slippers and placed them at the door. That way, when others see a man's shoes in our house and know there's a man inside, they won't dare to do anything."
She knew Sanda and didn't underestimate hooligans, but she prioritized safety at home.
William Zhan sat on the sofa, fixing his sharp, cold eyes on her.
The October night was a bit cool. Being stared at like this by him made Mila Hai feel incredible, as if she had fast-forwarded to winter. It was cold!
"Mr. Zhan, I'm sorry."
Mila Hai grabbed his slippers and placed them by his feet, apologizing.
She should have called him to ask if he was coming back.
After a long while, William Zhan said coldly, "I told you not to worry about me, but this is my home, and I'm very unhappy you locked me out."
"Mr. Zhan, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Next time, I'll call you in advance to ask if you'll be back. If you're not, I'll lock the door again."
After a silent pause, William Zhan stated, "If I'm going on a business trip, I'll let you know. If I don't inform you, consider me coming home every day without making phone calls. I'm occupied with work and don't have much time to answer your mundane calls."
Mila Hai said okay.
Whatever he said, she accepted it.
This was his house.
He was the boss.
"Mr. Zhan, would you like a midnight snack?"
Mila Hai thought he must be hungry after being busy all this time, so she asked kindly.
"I never have late-night snacks, as I'll gain weight."
