chapter 8 Not used to it

William Zhan was very particular about his figure and made sure not to indulge in excessive eating and drinking that could lead to weight gain. Losing weight was a challenging task for him.
Mila Hai smiled, saying, "Mr. Zhan, you have an excellent physique."
"Should I go back to the room and sleep now?" William Zhan mumbled.
"Good night," Mila Hai bid him goodnight, turned, and left.
"Wait, Mila Hai," William Zhan stopped her.
Mila Hai halted, turned around, and inquired, "Is there something else?"
William Zhan looked at her and advised, "Please avoid coming out in pajamas from now on."
She wasn't wearing any underwear under her pajamas. His keen eyes saw more than they should. While they were a couple, he only wanted to look at her. But what if someone else did?
Blushing, Mila Hai hurried back to her room and slammed the door.
William Zhan was speechless. He didn't feel embarrassed, but she did.
After a while, when William Zhan appeared in front of Mila Hai again, he was already dressed in a suit and tie. His face looked grim, but he found it hard to reprimand Mila Hai.
Whose fault was it that he forgot a strange woman was in his home? A woman who was now his nominal wife.
Usually, he resided in his large villa. When he woke up, he was the sole occupant of the second floor. The household staff wouldn't dare to venture upstairs as long as he stayed upstairs. Hence, he walked out without his upper garments.
Today was no different. When that "scheming" girl laid eyes on his torso.
"Mr. Zhan, I've packed breakfast and brought it back. Come and have breakfast."
After Mila Hai had a good laugh and her stomach hurt, she didn't forget to eat. She set the various breakfast items she had bought on the table in the dining area and called the man, who seemed to have lost a few pounds of meat with just a glance, to come and have breakfast.
William Zhan hesitated momentarily, then came over, glanced at the breakfast she had bought, and asked coldly, "Can't you cook for yourself?"
"Yes, the food I cook is delicious."
"Breakfast bought outside, especially from the simple breakfast shops on the roadside, isn't very hygienic. Try to avoid it in the future. If you know how to cook, you can prepare it at home. It's more hygienic and safe."
As the head of the Zhan family, William Zhan had never eaten this kind of ordinary breakfast every day in Guan City.
Mila Hai retorted, "Have you ever seen the kitchen in your own home? It's cleaner than your face, and there's nothing there. Even if I were a chef in a five-star hotel, I couldn't prepare anything without kitchen utensils or ingredients. We're not the only two living here."
William Zhan was rendered speechless.
"Do you want to eat?"
Mila Hai asked him.
William Zhan was also hungry. To avoid revealing his vulnerability, he sat at the dining table and said calmly, "You've already bought it all. If I don't eat, it's a waste. Eating it once or twice won't harm anyone."
This was his way of saving face.
Mila Hai shared half of each breakfast item with him. Then she sat down and informed him while enjoying her portion, "I noticed this yesterday when I moved in, so I ordered a variety of kitchen utensils online. Once they arrive, I'll buy groceries and start cooking. I won't let you eat from a roadside stall again."
He worked in a big company and had a certain status there. He belonged to the white-collar class and was a bit more sophisticated.
She was used to cooking her meals most of the time and only ordered takeout when she was at the store. If he was more particular, she was willing to comply.
"We're still missing a lot of things at home. Can I purchase them according to my plan?"
William Zhan raised his head, glanced at his wife across the table, and then continued to enjoy his breakfast. The standard breakfast items tasted good.
"Now that we're officially married and this is your home, you can decorate it according to your preferences. Just don't touch my room."
Everywhere else was fair game.
"Got it."
With his approval, Mila Hai decided to proceed with her plans. She would grow some flowers on the balcony and buy a swing chair to place there, where she could sit, read, and enjoy the flowers in her free time.
"Oh, by the way! Grandma mentioned yesterday that we should go to your family's place for dinner this weekend to meet the elders."
William Zhan calmly responded, "Let's discuss it over the weekend. I need to check my schedule. If I can't make it, I'll ask Grandma to bring my parents over, and you can meet them over a meal."
Mila Hai had no objections.
