"Steve, I need you here." I mind linked Steve, and immediately he was here with me. "I am right behind you." He responded and came immediately. "I need to speak with Sean and tell him it's urgent." I instructed him, and he quickly left to fetch Sean, a few minutes late, and I saw him entering the castle. "Alpha Norman, is everything alright?" He asked as he came closer with his face showing how worried he was. "Steve said it was urgent, so tell me what's the problem." He asked again, not wanting me to, why I called him, his eyes searching for answers on my face. "Relax, man, it's nothing much, come let's have a drink, first, then we can talk about why I called you later." I said, smiling, to him, trying to calm him down as he looked so worried. I strode to the wine bar and grabbed one of my favorite wines. I brought out two wine glasses and poured the wine into them. "Your mate was here." I said as I handed one of the glasses to him. He raised his eyes and looked at me without uttering a word. "I want you to stay back and take Care of your wife and look for someone else to replace you, you won't be going to the border with the others." I continued as he suddenly looked up in surprise. "What! Why? What happened? Did my wife say something to you? I will talk to........." "No, I have made up my mind, you are staying back home with your wife. So quickly find your replacement." He looked at me and did not bother to arguknewhe knows I don't go back on my words. He just nodded in agreement as he gulped the remaining wine into his mouth and rushed out. I smiled as I left. I poured myself another glass. "Hmmmh, I think I am losing my mind these days, I thought I heard someone humming last night." I said to myself as my mind drifted to a voice I heard last night when I was on the mountain, hill, howling. I quickly stood up and walked downstairs, and my stepmother mother sitting on a sofa while a maid was washing her feet. I walked closer to her. "Mother, I will be back." I informed her as I pecked her forehead, and a smile formed on her face. "Don't go alone, you should make sure to go with your beta or any of the guards." She said, as she warns me not to step out alone, that it's dangerous out there,e. "OK, mother, I will make sure I don't go alone." I hid my face. Smirked, I never wanted to go out with anyone. As I dashed out of the castle for a walk, I immediately reached the door, and Steve was already waiting for me. He doesn't like leaving me all by myself. I, as he always used to say, have many enemies and never know when they will attack. "Hmm! Steve! What are you doing here?" wased surprised to see him ahead of me. "Waiting to escort you, my Alpha." He answered, bowing his head down, he's always ready to protect me at all costs. "Lis, ten S,teve I want to walk, alone and b,esides I am not going far." I already started walking down the lane. "But my king......" He still tried to convince me, but I had made up my mind. I raised one of my arms, and he halted. "Yes, Alpha." He said as he finally turned back. I streaked through the street, greeting my pack members as I walked down the street of the Bayley pack. Suddenly, I noticed that I was on a lonely road., I turned back, and I couldn't see a single person along the I kept walking down till I was certified to go back. As I turned back to leave, I bumped into someone, but I was sure no one was on this road a moment ago. "How did he appear here all of a sudden, and that face, oh, hold on, that's a stranger, I have never seen that face before." I whispered to myself, as I turned around to speak to him, surprisingly, he wasn't th. Re, I stood there looking around, but even his shadow had disappeared., I then decided to turn back and go home. "Who are you? And what do you want?" I said as I turned around, surprised to see the same man before me. "You and your mother have made us homeless, and you must pay with your life." He said as he moved closer to me, the look on his face showing anger and revenge. "Listen, I don't know who you are; you might have mistaken me for someone else." I responded as I slowly moved back, but before I could say anything else, he dashed towards me, attacking me with his dagger, cutting through my upper arm. I tried to grab him, but he was quick to dodge. My eyes suddenly felt blurry, and I knew there was something in the dagger. When he saw that it did not go as he planned, he then ran into the woods. I tried to go after him, but my body started reacting to whatever was in that dagger. I decided to go back home, but I will not be able to reach home before it fully takes control of my body. "Steve! I need you to come find me, I'm at the......." I mind linked Ste, but before I could finish talking to I, the mind link was cut off. I tried to mind link him again, but I couldn't. I picked a race and ran as fast as I could, but within a short while, my legs were slowing down as I couldn't run faster, and my breathing was slowing down too. I stopped running and fastened my footsteps. I gazed at my upper arm, and the blood that was coming out from the cut started turning blue. "Wolfsbane........!" I whispered to myself, but even my voice was giving up on me. I slowly walked towards home, but it was still far ahead. Darkness had covered the ground, and the clouds were covered in moist air. I tried to Use my wolf eyes to see, so at least maybe, I will make it back home on time, but my body is becoming weaker as I go on. Suddenly, I felt my muscles slowly giving up on me, and my knees were quivering. Despite all that, I still tried to fix my eyes on my part, but the more I tried widening them, it felt as if everything was turning around, I Staggering as my eyes were becoming more blurred, I tried to hold myself, but darkness engulfed me as I found myself falling to the cold ground.
