The cold breeze of the Bayley pack had been hitting us as we galloped with our horses to the woods where we were to meet with Douglas. I could feel the cold breeze as it passed through my ears.
The woods were quiet and calm, as there was no sign of any human or animal., The place was deserted; the high trees that gave shade to the woods were the only thing keeping us company as we moved farther into the woods.
Prey suddenly halted while neighing continuously as if his eyes had seen something scary. I named him Prey as I saved him from an enemy who wanted him dead and made him mine. Since then, he has
been a good boy and my favorite horse.
I jumped down from the horse, it was a beautiful black horse, I brushed my fingers on the back of his neck as I tried to calm him down, but it wasn't working, he looked so scared.
"What's the matter, Prey?"
I asked as I continued calming him down.
"Let me look around...."
Steve said as he got down from his brown colored horse. As he tried to move forward, his horse started neighing too.
"Hold on, Steve."
I said to Steve as I walked close to him.
"I think something was out here."
We both walked around the woods but couldn't find anything., We went back to the horses, and they were still weighing.
We stood there confused, as the horses had never misbehaved.
Suddenly perceived a strange scent that didn't belong to a wolf. We quickly turned back, and we were greeted by a strange animal that looked quite huge and dangerous. Before we could react to To
To defend ourselves, the animal jumped on us as it pushed us to the ground full of dry leaves and went behind us.
A growl ripped out from our lips as we quickly jumped up and looked around the forest. Whatever had come to attack us had gone quicker than we had expected. We couldn't explain much of what it looked
like. It was with a horn that made a circular shape at the end of each horn, its eyes popped out from its very huge head, with long fangs that came out from its mouth. We have never seen anything like that.
Our breaths were heavy as we tried to calm down, and we got a few scratches on our arms.
We continued our journey after we couldn't find any sign of the animal.
This route to Douglas has always been like this, it was quiet but yet was the most dangerous road to follow when traveling to the land of the black witches. His father was a werewolf, and his mother was
rumored to be a witch. So he got some powers from both parents, and one of them was said to be a witch.
It took us some hours to reach the village where he resided.
We could see the tall buildings from where we were, and in a few minutes, we arrived in the land of witches. We took a closer look, but it seems like no one had been here for a long time;e, it was either that no one lived here or that he was dead. We roamed around the place for some time before we decided to head back to the Bayley pack.
Just as we turned around to leave, we suddenly bumped into three men who looked like half animals with scaly bodies and long nails. Their eyes were so big, we slowly moved back as we turned to face the building and behold another three men just like the ones behind us. We have been surrounded.
I growled in anger as I charged to defend myself when another group walked out from the woods, giving me a little chance of winning.
Mind-linked Steve and told him to change to his wolf, while I also changed to mine. I explained my plan to him through a mind link.
The cracking of our bones could be heard as we transformed into our wolf form. As the alpha and the beta, we could transform anytime we wanted.
Just in a few seconds, two huge black and brown werewolves stood before them with their fangs hanging out of their mouths.
We growled at them, which made them a little scared. We jumped over them as we came out of their mist and turned around to face them. We could see how scared they were. We could perceive their
fear as we charged towards them, we slit their throat one after another, the little ones that remained got scared and ran away.
We hopped up on our horses and within a few seconds, our horses were galloping. The weather was getting dark as we continued to ride home, and I felt the cold breeze of the woods on my forehead. My hair that fell before my forehead was being blown swiftly by the cold breeze, and the leaves were moving simultaneously with the help of the breeze, making a sound. We saw a river on our way and we decided to clean up before we continued our journey back home. We went a little deep into the river and washed ourselves, and also fed our horses. The journey would take us hours before we could arrive at our destination. We had ridden for some hours when we decided to give our horses a rest. We also rested our backs on a huge rock just right before us, near a lake, giving the horses a little space. Suddenly, we heard the horses neighing quite loudly. I snapped my eyes open quickly. I ran to check the horses, and they weren't there. I searched with my wolf sight and heightened my ears to a far distance, and I caught the horses galloping in a different direction with a man riding them. I growled and raced into the forest in pursuit of the horses. My speed was more than a normal Alpha's speed, so I was able to get hold of them in just a few minutes.
When my horse perceived my scent, he halted and turned around, racing back towards me. Just some steps away, he stopped and waited for me.
When I arrived there, the horse thief was busy trying to figure out why the horse was misbehaving.
"Hi there."
I said to the man as he quickly turned around and faced me.
"I like your horses, are they yours?"
I said with a mocking tone, before the man could turn to run away, I was already standing before him. I showed him my fangs and my eyes, which were as red as blood. I felt his heart beating in his chest; he was so scared that he started shivering.
"I haven't heard that no one touches anything that belongs to me."
I said smoothly to him, which made him more scared.
"I'm sorry, I never knew......"
Before he could finish what he was trying to say, I ran my right hand over his arm and dislocated it.
He screamed in pain.
"I just want to warn you, next time your corpse will be taken to your family to be buried."
I whispered to him as I tapped his shoulder with a faint smile on my face.
He quickly ran away and never looked back.
"Come on, prey, good boy."
I said to my horse as I brushed my hand on his neck, and he seemed happy to see me.
"My king......."
Steve called out as he was standing behind me for some time.
We hopped up on our horses as we headed back to Bagley.
"Steve, we need to move fast so we leave this land before night falls."
Steve nodded as he understood what I meant by what I said. The horse's legs could be heard as they tried their best to run as fast as they could.
"Hiya.... Come on, boy."
I said to pray as he continued galloping towards my pack. Just then, the horse forcefully halted, almost throwing me to the group,n d while raising his back leg, then slumped down and started neighing
again. Just then, Steve arrived.
"Prey, what's the matter?"
I patted his neck just like always, but it never listened.
"My king, look."
Steve said as I looked at his face, he was looking worried. I moved my gaze from him and looked forward, but was shocked at what, or perhaps should I say who, stood before me as they started coming out from behind the trees.
"My king, weren't they dead........?"
