I was with some of my werewolf friends who came from another neighbouring pack, and they requested a particular slave girl whom they had been hearing about from my pack. They were so excited to meet the slave that I wondered exactly what it was that this particular slave had, as I couldn't hear a word of the other slaves apart from that same slave. Though I had not seen her in person, I had heard people claiming she was beautiful. 'I hate slaves anyway, in fact I passionately hate them.' I said to myself as I called the guard at the door. "Yes my king." The guard answered as he bowed his head. "Go to the slave cell, get the most admired slave amongst them, and bring her here." I gave out an order to the guard, and he quickly left to fetch the slave. Just in a few minutes, the guard walked in, followed by the slave girl I requested. I did not bother to take a glance at her as slaves disgust me. "She is a beautiful harlot, like I have heard from the town." I heard one of my friends say as the slave girl entered the chamber. "She's all yours." I said as she came close to the Column in the middle of the chamber, which wasn't quite far from where we were sitting. The slave girl danced to the music that was being played. My friends were gawking at the girl who was busy dancing. I unconsciously glanced up a bit, and I saw her dancing steps, and it was so amazing. I got curious about what her face might look like, so I decided to take a look at her face, but to my surprise, she was staring at me. Her expression was quite painful and wounded. I quickly looked away as I couldn't look through those eyes. For no good reason, my heart ached for what I saw through her eyes, and I could feel the beating of my heart. While my friends were busy as they enjoyed the entertainment she provided, I was restless just by hearing her dancing steps, but quickly I was easily provoked and I couldn't control it anymore. "Stop! Leave." I finally said furiously as I couldn't hold my anger anymore. The guard quickly came in and took the slave away. I finally glared at her, and surprisingly, she was also staring back at me. I felt like I was haunted by her presence, and her eyes were piercing through my veins as she never looked away until the door distracted our view. That night, I was restless in my room. I wanted to go out to the mountain just like always, but my legs were not moving as if I had cold feet. I went to the mountain after so much struggle. I howled three times when suddenly I was distracted by a sweet voice humming, and I felt my anger calm as I sat down listening to the hum. It was as if the humming was meant for me, and I felt connected to Each sound that came from him, the rhythm of the hum, pierced through my veins as it calmed me down. The first time I heard the hum, I thought I was losing my mind. I lost focus if I couldn't hear her hum every night, her hum made me forget my loneliness and pain, I found myself in another world just by listening to her hum. Never have I heard such a sweet and tempting voice before. The voice was so calming and inviting, it always repeated inside my head during the day while I waited for tonight to hear it again. I never knew Anything could make me feel like this, even after my encounter with the slave girl, which made me so furious. Gradually,y I found myself yearning for her hum, it was as if I could not do without it, it was as if I never got tired listening to it. 'How strange.' I thought to myself as I walked to my room from the mount, again, and I lay down in my bed. In the morning, I was woken up by Steve as I heard a knock at the door. I walked to the door with my eyes still blurry from not sleeping well last night. "Steve!" I called his name as I fully opened the door. "Come on in." I quickly said to him as I moved away from the door. "I received words from the spy we sent to live among the rogue." Steve said the moment he walked in. "Judging from the spy's explanation, I think we have an assassin inside the castle." He said as he looked at me worriedly. "How could that be possible? We always made sure any stranger was thoroughly checked before stepping inside the castle." I argued with proof of heavy security at the castle gate. "I think we might have unknowingly allowed the assassin inside the castle." I suspiciously said as I remembered the refugees we brought in yesterday. "I think the assassin disguised himself before coming in, as we weren't able to identify him before he walked inside." Steve suspiciously said. "Liste, Steve, I need you to talk to the pack members and explain the situation to them. Let them prepare themselves for the unexpected." I instructed Steve, and he immediately went out to deliver the message to the pack members. Quickly, I turned around to face the half moon as I stared for almost an hour, as I tried to think of a way to protect my pack members. A knock came at the door, and I was so lost in thought that I couldn't hear it. "My king! My king!! My.....!" The guard called many times before I realized that someone had been seeking my attention. "Yes." I answered as I finally heard my name being called out. "My king, your mother, asked for your presence." He said as he bowed his head and closed the door. I left for my stepmother. I knocked before entering the room, and she asked me to sit, which I did. "Son, I called you to talk about the slav. As I was thinking, if we should sell out some of our slaves to the council members who needed one." I heard my mother say as I looked up at her in surprise as to why she would want to sell some slaves. "But why, mother? Why sell the slaves? Is there any issue I am not aware of?" I inquired from her. "I just thought that since they need slaves and we have like hundreds of the whatever numbers that are also increasing. Wouldn't it be a good idea if we sold some?" She finally said, pitifully looking at me, that I knew she wasn't telling the truth, but I granted her the right anyway. 'My worries were for my pack member, not for some silly slaves that needed to be sold.' I taught as I stood up to leave. I don't know what her reasons were for selling some slaves, but I would find out later. "Sean, are you close? I need you to come to my chamber." I mind linked with my best friend Sean, and he came almost immediately. "My king, you called for me." Sean asked as he entered the chamber. "Sean, you're my best friend and one of my most trusted people I have here in my pack." I said to him as I tried to make him understand how important the task was. "I want you to find out what my stepmother has been up to lately." I continued as I frowned. "And this should be between us both." I said finally. "Is everything alright with you two?" Sean asked, looking worried. "That was what I wanted you to find out, if everything was alright with us. As she wanted to sell some slaves to some of the council members and her reasons weren't enough." I explained to Sean, as he looked so surprised. It's been so long since we sold out slaves, but this was er sudden decision to sell slaves now, after many years, wasn't enough reason. "But suddenly an idea came in." "I think we have to visit Douglass." I said as I suggested to Steve. "Douglas? But my king........? "Steve, I have to do anything I can for my pack. I can't sit back and watch some foolish wolves tear my pack apart when I have a place where I can easily get a solution to my problems." I explained more to Steve to make him understand why I had made the decision. "Yes, my king....." He finally agreed with me as we headed into the woods to meet with Douglas. Douglas was one of my werewolf friends who had been blessed with a rare werewolf power; he can see someone's intentions when he comes in contact with them. He was banned from the pack after he disclosed the evil plan of a very high-ranked werewolf in the Moonlight pack, located very close to our pack. He lived deep down inside the woods as a rogue. I met him on one of my quests to find a solution.n For my pack, and that's how I came to know about his powers after he helped me out, and since then, we have been friends, though it had been a long time since I went to visit. "But my king, we are not sure if he's still alive."
