..."Feel free to go back ". He added, turning his face towards Eric's.
Moving towards the parked White Porsche Macan, Dave walked behind her, unlocking the doors with the control key he held in his hand. He swiftly went in front to hold the door open for her. She
smiled, shaking her head whilst she made a move to get in the car.
"April?.."
A voice called out to her from behind in a tone of disbelief. She suddenly was still, her eyes shut. Knowing the bearer of that voice left so many questions in her head, and in that instant, she felt trapped in
her web of lies. Slowly, she tried to turn her face to his, but her conscience wouldn't let her.
"Oh.. look, your arrogant boss came to chill. " . Dave spoke spitefully from behind her.
FURY…
Stace's rage became kindled by Dave's statemen, and he made a move to pounce on him, but was quickly prevented. Walter came in front of him, shoulder to shoulder, and whispered in his ears;
"You don't have to do this. He isn't worth it".
Stace took a while to digest these words. He had his eyes fixed on Dave, who wasn't bothered about the outcome of his statement. Stace withdrew his gaze, fixing it on Apr, ill, who couldn't look him in the eye from where she stood. His fist gradually loosened. He looked broken, and it was hard to pretend. Tracing the stare, Dave saw Stace's eyes were locked on April in quite an awkward manner, hence he
stepped in front of April to break the connection.
"Get them out of her". Stace ordered Walter as he moved away, marching into the restaurant.
April made a move to say something or call out to him, but courage failed her.
"You two, get i.n."
Walter said, walking towards the driver's seat. April got in the front passenger seat she shut her eyes, and leaned her head on the chair. She felt terrible. She knew she had messed up. She just wanted
to forget this night, but it seemed to be going slower, and Dave wasn't helping.
'Why didn't I just tell him the truth..'.
She thought.
"You're tripping. This is my car". Dave warned, following behind him.
"Dave, come on….
She spoke from her seat in a frustrated tone.
"You're wasting my time". Walter replied calmly.
"Wasting your time? Who the f*uck do you think you are?!"
Dave barked. Just then, he got a blow on the side of his head from Walter, which left him unconscious, and before he could fall to the ground, Walter caught him.
"What the.. yYou killed him?! Is he dead?! Why did you do that? What's up with you and Stace, for Christ's sake! First, he sounds weird on the phone,,e and now you have to drive us home, like what is going on?"
April asked in fright, turning her head towards the backseat to get a view as Walter dropped him there carelessly.
"You can relax, your boyfriend isn't dead. Walter assured her as he slammed the door and got into the driver's seat.
"He is not my boyfriend". April retorted. He paid no attention to her response as he sped off.
Walking into the Restaurant, Stace had his eyes on the entire place. He got distracted by the laughs of some elderly folks sitting at a table on his left, holding down their cutlery firmly, he perceived
They were politicians, two men and two women, all about the ages of fifty to sixty. He took his eyes away and proceeded to walk towards an empty table. He spotted Jack holding up a glass of wine
standing by the bar, their eyes met, and as he sat majestically, he spotted some members of the pack properly disguise,d and it was almost like they all greeted him with their eys, Stace took his eyes back
to Jack and he gave a slight nod as he moved on to signal his other colleagues he had brought along.
Soon enough, some security personnel were seen going from table to table holding up their badges, instructing immediate evacuation due to a security threat call they claimed to have received. This
Prompted people to be upstanding and in a hurry to leave, bodyguards followed suit, and so did the staff
Stace got up, moving towards the bar, and he poured himself a drink, sitting on the fancy bar stool. He gulped down and turned to see the emptiness of the room.
"We're the only ones left, and still no signs of a supposed threat".
A young woman in her cop uniform spoke in a British accent as she approached him. She sounded intelligent, and spoke too tough for her size.
"Because we are early."
Stace replied, getting off the stool.
"But this could have been just a scare. How reliable is your source?"
She asked further.
"Lady cop, if you don't want to be a part of this, you can go home. Just stop chirping in my ears".
Stace replied to her as he made a move to walk away.
"Hey! You do not get to talk to me like I was one of your hoes, you rich prick.
She responded rather upset.
"That's enough, Officer Rene.
Jack warned on approaching them.
" I apologize on her behalf; she can be temperamental at times". Jack explained.
"Well, maybe you should fill her in on how this rich prick could easily make her lose the job that's given her so much guts. Stace replied, boring his eyes at her so hard that she was forced to look away. He
turned to leave but paused, turning back towards her.
"And one more thing, you are nothing like my hoes. They look better."
He added m, moving on towards the exit door. Provoked, she made a move to want to retaliate to his statement, but was prevented by Jack.
"Get a hold of yourself and quit going around believing you're tough enough. You'll get yourself killed," He warned as he walked away towards the exit. She stood there looking like a volcano ready to
Explodedut soon turned towards the bar, she poured herself a drink from the bottle of wine opened by Stace, and she gulped down much of it.
On getting to her apartment, he dropped Dave on her bed from off his shoulders.
"You haven't said a word to me ".
April spoke, breaking the silence. He was standing behind him as he dropped Dave, but Walter remained quiet.
" I demand to know what's going on!"
She yelled.
"You don't get to make any demands. You toy with a heart that loves you, but you are not sixteen. Make up your mind".
He finally spoke as he turned towards her swiftly. It was the first time she had seen him so stern, and it startled her for a bit as he spoke.
"Stay in and you'll be safe ".
He stressed.
"At least, just...tell me what's going on..?". She pleaded.
"I believe he already told you, you should trust him a little bit".
He replied to her before heading out.
Sitting outside the restaurant on the stairs, Stace saw cars drive in behind each other till they stopped.d
"Seems your best friend ran us out to Papa Bear.
Rufus said to Eric in the car with his hand on the wheel, Eric was now trembling at the sight of Stace and the realization that his end might be near.
" No birthday cake for you here!"
Stace spoke, nd his voice echoed.
"I think we need to turn back."
Eric warned Rufus in fright.
"Naaah. He was a werewolf. They ain't no match for us vampires". Rufus boasted as he made a move to get down.
"You should listen to your kid bro .."
Stace advised in a loud voice.
"You do not understand... we need to go back....he is no ordinary werewolf. If you do not listen to me right now, then we are all going to die! .
Eric warned, pulling Rufus back in the car by the arm. Rufus saw desperation in his eyes. He knew his brother wasn't the bravest, but he had never seen him that scared.
There was silence for a while as Stace sat on the stairs, relaxed. He lifted his head and his eyes met with Rufus', they stared at each other for a while before he took a reverse and drove out.
Just then, Officer Rene comes rushing out holding firmly to her gun.
"What? What? You let them get away? Are you kidding me??!"
She yelled, rushing down the stairs, trying to catch up with the man, but she was already late.
"Not my fault you were drinking on duty". He replied to her as he made a move to get up on his feet.
"Why didn't you signal for us, the cops! What do you think of yourself, Captain America?! ".
She yelled, marching towards him. Other cops rushed down to restrain her. Stace got up and walked down, approaching his car. He looked pretty pissed.
"For all we know, he could be working with the criminals!"
He heard her say.
He paid no attention but got into his car and turned on the engine. While she was left alone and stood in his way, staring at him spitefully through the windscreen, he stepped on the brakes and sped on out
willing to crush whatever posed as a hurdle, and so she had no choice but to roll ovoverealizing he was crazy, and from where shshe layshe memorized his car plate number.
