In a diner, she sat by the window with her hair let loose, sipping from the straw buried in her milkshake. He noticed Mo walk in. Mo was petite, she had great skin, and long straight hair. She had a very cute face with big brown eyes. She wore a knee-length turtle neck sleeve gown that showed out her body shape and revealed her full legs in her black cut-out heels. She spots April and, with a smile on her face, walks towards her table.
"So so sorry I kept you waiting," she says in her high-pitched voice as April stands up for a hug she knew was coming.
"It's fine. You're just twenty minutes late," April stressed, planting a soft kiss on her cheek as they proceeded to take their seats opposite each other.
"Oh, you already ordered."
Yeah, I was starving."
"And you ordered a milkshake?"
"You don't have an appetite."
"Why? Something wrong? The interview?"
"The interview was fine.. I got the job."
"That's great news.. congratulations, honey.."
April breathed out as her countenance changed.
"Don't," Mo warned, looking back at her.
"What…."
"Don't even think about,.." she added.
"But what if he is sorry…. He has been calling all day."
" Well, I don't give a f**k if he is gonna call till the end of time. I can't believe you right now," Mo replied, disappointed.
"Mo, people make mistakes."
"Yes, people do. But when you make the same mistake more than twice, it's deliberate. And that man is deliberately riding on your sense,s and y, ou my dear fri, end seem to be enjoyin.g it"
"We were gonna get married in two weeks.."Yeah,h
"Yeah, and he fu**d our friend. " Mo responded by folding her arms and maintaining a straight face. April shuts her eyes at the flashback.
"Hello, good evening, sorry to disturb you, would you like anything?" A waitress asked with a smile, turned towards Mo.
"I would have what she's having. T Thank you," Mo said back with a smile, which soon disappeared at the exit of the waitress. She stared back at April.
"It's a good thing you have got a job now. That's what you need. A distraction. A profitable distraction," she says. April looks away quietly. Traces of a cheapish smile trying so hard to be hidden could be
Seen at the end of her lips.
"What? What's that?" Mo asks in a suspicious tone.
"Nothing.."
"Burst. Spit it out," Mo insisted with a smile.
"Okay… He is so hot…." She expressed.
"Who?"
"The manager," she whispered.
"Oh, you whore.." Mo excitedly commented, moving closer to hear more. The waitress soon returns with a glass of delicious-looking milkshake, bows her head slightly, and slowly exits.
"Go on.. tell me everything!" Mo adds, stretching out her arms across the table, April stretches hers to,o and they both hold hands joyfully.

In an exoticoaking tub, the head of a man could be seen above the water as his neck rested firmly on the edge of the tub. His eyes were shut as he was lost in the soothing feeling. He looked so innocent and at peace. The bathroom was artistically built and designed. It was large in width and round in shape. He lights reflected on the water, giving it a passionate tint. He soon felt the tender caresses of feminine hands from behind his head as their nails gently scraped down his chest. He opened up his eyes.
"I thought I was clear," he said with a straight face.
"You know it is impossible.. You know how badly I burn for you," the lady kneeling behind him whispered as she softly planted kisses on his shoulder with her eyes closed. He remains unmoved. He stands
up from the tub, rather irritated and with his muscular bare body, he moves down the few stairs that lead to the main room.
"You should not have come," he adds, getting into his bathrobe. She walked to where he was rather slowly.
"How long will you punish me? She voiced.
"This is no punishment. " He replies, turning towards her.
"I have told you. Whatever we had is in the past." He stressed. She blinks her eyes in a bid to withhold the pain she felt from his words.
" We can rekindle the fire, I know you still love me she says.
"We can't. And I would appreciate it if you would stop sneaking in and out of my house. You know how risky that is," he warned.
"If only you would make love to me one more time, I know you will love me again."
"Luna !" He cut in.
"Leave!" He yelled.
Standing there broken, she stared at him for a bit and turned to leave, picking up her bag and keys. She pauses but then walks out. He shuts his eyes, grinding his teeth. His face revealed pain, but then he
sat on the edge of the bed and fell on it.
Not too long after, he heard the doorbell.
"Walter, " he voiced out on seeing who was at the door.
"Alpha, " the younger man replied, bowing his head. He leaves the door open as Walter walks in, shutting the door behind him.
"Still fighting?" Walter asks, walking behind him into the small living room.
"There is nothing to fight for. "
"You know she won't give up. She was in tears."
"I do not forgive the sin of betrayal. She betrayed me. "
"But you love her still, you are wounded.d"
"Pain is necessary for strength," he replied from the mini bar as he pulled out two glasses from the counter.
"Master Stace.."
"You are rather earlier than you announced," Stace cut in, pouring wine into the glasses.
Walter is quiet for a bit.
"The hunters found something," he replied.
"What exactly?" Stace asked as he moved to where Walter sat, handing over to him a glass of wine and taking a seat opposite him.
"Bodies"
"How many"
"Three. children"
"Where?"
"In the woods, not too far from the clearing."
Walter sees the rage in Stace's eyes.
"The strange thing about it all is that the bodies were unharmed. Just their hearts taken," Walter added.
" Sorcery, " Stace said.
"Someone is obviously up to something and is trying to cause a diversion by pinning it on us. Gather the pack, the sentinels especially. I need them here in twenty and they all better be present!!!" He
added in an angry tone.
||Next Day, Morning|
Hurriedly alighting from the taxi she boarded, April ushers towards the stairs leading up to the front door of the building, holding strongly to the huge box she carried with both hands, and her bag hung on
one of her shoulders. Pushing the door open, she bumps into a lady whose bag has fallen to the ground.
"Oh my God, I am so so sorry… " she pleaded to the lady who looked so sophisticated and stylish.sh The lady remained mute as she looked at April from her feet up to her face.
"Pick it up," the lady ordered. April bent down to pick up the bag and handed it over to her.
"I am so sorry, ma'a,m" she pleaded.
"You must be the new girl."
"Yes, Ma'am.." April replied.
"Good. Be careful and know your place,ce" she added as she exited the building, accompanied by two other male staff in black suits.
"You have to be careful, Miss..." a feminine voice spoke from behind her. April turns and finds it was a fellow staff member.
"Hi, I am Cindy," the lady said with a smile.
"Hi, I am April. Who was that lady?"
"That's Miss Luna, engaged to be married to the CEO, Mr Stace Bran. She is the Senior Manager."
"Manager? But, I was interviewed by a male yesterday." April insisted.
"No, dearie. You were interviewed by Mr. Stace himself. She was off yesterday. I think they fought. But the boss sometimes does the interviews; he says he needs to know who gets employed in his
company. He kind of has trust issues".
"Oh.. I see .. thanks," April said, faking a smile. Her countenance had somewhat changed as she sluggishly turned to walk away.
