The room was nothing like the last one I stayed in; it was bigger and more spacious. Just like the last one, it has everything I need in the closet., I was excited tonight, I would be finding out the truth, why he knew so much about my preferences. This was something I found weird.
Be careful, Olivia, you heard the stories. My subconscious says.
I stepped into the shower, my mind was flooded with Luca, his smile, and his emerald eyes that were unique like nothing I had ever seen. His voice affected me to the core, and a smile erupted on my face.
I end up taking longer in the shower, and a tiny towel wraps around my body as I walk into the room. I stopped in my tracks when I noticed a presence in my room. He stood beside the bed, looking out the window.
His familiar cologne filled my nostrils, he had a smirk on his face, and I held on to my dear towel.
"Luca," I muttered against my breath.
I found him standing by my window like he owned the room.
The way he stared at my body made me feel self-conscious. Averted my eyes from him, but he didn’t like that. His hand held my chin up, and his eyes met mine again.
"You should have knocked." I breathed out.
He didn’t look at me and just said, You didn’t lock the door."
"Still." I breathed out, the silence stretching between us when he turned, and his eyes met mine
"Uhm..Did you need anything?" I ask and he nods.
"Dinner will be served in thirty minutes, don’t be late." He says he smiles at me one last time before he leaves the room.
Fuck that was a lot.
I usually have Ares to inform me when it’s time for dinner, but having Luca come here felt different in a weird way.
I wanted to look good; looking good always made me feel confident, so I wore a black dress that showed my curves. It had spaghetti straps and a small slit in front of the dress.
I packed my hair into a ponytail. I contemplated whether I looked good with my hair up. I know Conrad never liked it when my hair was up; he always wanted my hair down.
If he was here he would have called me a whore for dressing up for another man, he doesn’t have the right anymore, he lost it the day he sold me because of some fucking money, maybe I wore the dress to spite him, I didn’t want to do anything that he liked, even if he could not see me, maybe I would even sleep with the Alpha to hurt a man that I thought cared for me.
A tear slips from my eyes when I recall the incident, and I shrug off all the feelings.
He is probably happier without m.. I was still hurt by what he did to me, but I guess it’s easier to hate him. I wonder what he told his family about. They would ask of me, knowing Conra, that he would never take the blame for his deed; he would tell them I left him or I cheated.
I hate his immature attitude.
Ares was outside my door.
"Ready for dinner." He asks, and I nod.
Arewalkslk me downsta.rs, I have waited for this for a long time. The aroma of food filled my nostrils as I walked into the room. Luca’s eyes met mine.
He was dumbfounded; he stared at me shamelessly as I walked down with Ares,
"Good evening." I smile.
I love the effect I have on men because of my beauty; I know it’s one of the things that attracted Conrad to me.
Stop thinking about your ex-husband, my subconscious says.
I take a seat next to Luca, and I notice a bruise on his hand.
It wasn’t there thirty minutes ago, I smiled at him.
"How are you enjoying your stay?" Luca asked, his tone welcoming and nice
Maybe he is bipolar
"It’s good, I like my room." I smiled.
"I redecorated it myself," Luca said, and my eyes widened.d I was utterly confused. He spent a lot of money to get her, and why?
Why did he choose to do that? I wanted us to talk more, but the food came, Luca leans.
"We have all night to talk love." He whispered in my ear. His cold breath sent a sizzling wave through my body.
I let out a breath, controlling my hormones.
Ares joined us for dinner. Is this how it’s going to be?
It’s too quiet, I expected that when I met their alph, it would become less boring at the dining table, but it wasn’t. Ares and Luca both don’t like to speak.
But I realized something, if I wanted to survive this, I would have to play by his rules until I figure out what is happening.
The sight of the spaghetti made my stomach rumble; it looked scrumptious. I was about to eat when Luca stopped me.
"Who added mushrooms to her past?" Luca yelled, his voice straddling me.
I glanced down at it,t bu I didn’t notice it. I’m deadly allergic to mushrooms; it was something I took from my father.
"Luca, it’s fine," I whispered.
My breath was shaky until I rested my hand on his
"It’s not, who fucking did it?" He yells.
The staff were quiet; they were scared of him.
"Who cooked the meal?" He asks, this time his voice came dangerously low.
"I did." A voice said it was a lady. She looked like she was in her early forties, a nd her eyes were filled with fear.
"Luca, I will take care of it, Ares says, and he nods.
What are they going to do to him? She made a mistake, and I hope it doesn’t cost her job.
My hand rested on his hand. Ist "Luca, it’s fine."
"What if something happened to you?" He muttered.
Why did he care? I didn’t dare say that.
I reminded myself to be good, play by his rules.
"I didn’t eat it," I whispered.
He was just worried about me.
Another maid comes with a new plate of spaghetti, but it has no mushrooms in it. I start to eat when Ares comes back.
I was tempted to ask him what he did tohime, but I didn’t. I remained quiet for my sake.
After dinner, Luca informed me to go up to my roroomhe had some business to deal with, and he assured me he would answer all my questions tonight.
I hate to be told what to do, I changed into comfortable clothes,, d ignoring Ares’s words, I walked downstairs.
A scream stopped me in my tracks. It was coming from a door close to the kitchen. My hands shook as I held onto the handle of the door. I slowly opened it, and my eyes met my biggest fear.
