Ava An took a deep breath and nodded gently. "Then let's not sign it. But if you regret it after a year, you have the right to terminate our marriage at any time."

"I won't," Ethan Ye said indifferently, but Ava An could sense his determination.

Ava An truly couldn't understand why Ethan Ye was so confident that he wouldn't regret it. Even she wasn't certain if she would regret it.

During the silence, Ethan Ye's phone rang, but he didn't answer it. Instead, he casually flipped the phone face down on the table.

"You seem busy, so I'll leave," Ava An said as she noticed someone was trying to reach him and stood up to go.

Ethan Ye nodded. "Tomorrow at 10 a.m., meet me at the Civil Affairs Bureau entrance."

Ava An was momentarily surprised but quickly nodded and picked up her bag to leave.

After she gently closed the door behind her, Ethan Ye remained seated for a while before picking up his phone to return the call.

"Hey, Ethan, are you done with your work? Come back soon; we're short one for our game of mahjong," complained and urged Jason Xia from the other end of the phone.

"Not playing today. I have something to do," Ethan Ye said.

Jason Xia inquired, "What do you have to do? You just got back from your business trip."

"Jet lag," Ethan Ye responded with three words.

Jason Xia: ...

He didn't have jet lag when he returned in the afternoon, but now, late at night, he suddenly remembered it? Since when did Ethan Ye develop such a slow reflex?

"Alright, alright. But don't forget, we're scheduled to play golf tomorrow morning," Jason Xia complained but still felt concerned for Ethan Ye, who had just returned from a business trip.

"Not going. I have something to do," Ethan Ye declined directly.

Jason Xia was now frustrated. "What else do you have to do? You just said you had nothing tomorrow!"

"Getting married." He dropped these two words and promptly hung up the phone.

Beep, beep, beep...

On the other end of the call, Jason Xia, after a series of beeps, placed his phone on the table, looking as if he had just been struck by lightning, his mouth agape.

"Your drool is dripping," Abigail Su, sitting across from him, tapped the table to snap him out of it.

Tony Jiang also gave him a sideways glance. "What did Ethan say to you that shocked you like this?"

Still in disbelief, Jason Xia wiped away the drool, using a tone that sounded as if he had just seen a ghost. " Ethan Ye said he won't be able to play golf with us tomorrow because he's getting married!"

Abigail Su: ...

Tony Jiang: ...

Although the two of them didn't appear as shocked as Jason Xia, there was still a hint of surprise in their eyes.

At this moment, Ethan Ye had no idea that he had dropped a bombshell on his friends. He was driving, following behind Ava An.

After leaving the club, Ava An intended to take a taxi back home. However, due to the club's remote location, it was challenging to find a taxi, especially in the cold winter night. She ended up braving the frigid winds, walking towards a busier area to hail a cab.

S City had distinct seasons, and winter was particularly piercing. The cold wind seeped into her lungs through her mouth and nose, triggering a cough. On the desolate road, her cough carried on the wind and reached Ethan Ye's ears.

Ethan Ye furrowed his brows, stepped on the gas, and quickly approached her. He honked the horn to get her attention.

Ava An heard the horn behind her and turned her head. She saw the car window roll down, revealing Ethan Ye's handsome face.

"Get in; I'll give you a ride," Ethan Ye spoke sparingly, only uttering five words.

Ava An, feeling too cold to be overly dramatic, and considering that they were getting married tomorrow anyway, decided to forgo the formalities. She swiftly went around the front of the car and took the passenger seat on the other side.

The warm air blowing in her face made her instantly feel more comfortable. However, the temperature contrast between the cold and warm caused her to cough again.

"Cough..." In the confined space of the car, Ava An didn't want to cough loudly. She suppressed it and coughed a few times to relieve the discomfort before managing to control the urge to cough.

"Where do you live?" Ethan Ye asked after she had stopped coughing.
