chapter 6 Team established

Among them, Eric Zhang blurted out, "Wh... What is Web 1.0, and what is Web 2.0!"
After speaking, he felt awkward again. He had just been claiming that others didn't understand the internet, but someone casually threw out a concept, leaving him, a professional in the field, bewildered.
Most importantly, as an industry insider, he vaguely felt that Quintin Fang's introduction of Web 1.0 and 2.0 concepts would mark a significant revolution.
In other words, I don't understand what you're saying, but I feel like you're right.
Quintin Fang looked at the crowd, amused by their surprise, and walked to a spot to sit down, beckoning, "Don't stand there. Sit down and let's talk!"
Eric Zhang hesitated momentarily, then awkwardly returned to his previous seat.
Beside him, Ella Su breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Eric Zhang sit down. Among the ten people they recruited, Eric Zhang had the highest technical expertise and extensive experience.
He was an engineer Ella Su had poached from Moogle.
Although he wasn't Moogle's top engineer for a startup team, he was more than enough.
Most importantly, poaching people was a test from Quintin Fang to himself.
If the people he poached left just like that, it would waste time and affect Quintin Fang's impression of himself.
Fortunately, Quintin Fang's words successfully piqued Eric Zhang's interest.
As long as Eric Zhang was interested, Ella Su was sure Quintin Fang would persuade him to stay.
Because she had been captivated by Quintin Fang's lofty words and had resigned decisively to follow him.
"Don't just stand there, you too, have a seat!" Quintin Fang called out.
Ella Su snapped back and nodded, choosing a nearby spot to sit.
Quintin Fang withdrew his gaze, swept it over the faces of everyone, smiled, and summarized, "The so-called Web 1.0 and 2.0 are my generalizations of the internet."
"Put simply, if Web 1.0 was about the technical aspect, where users passively received information, then the era of 2.0 is about transforming users from passive recipients to active participants, even creators of information, making the internet more humane."
"Do you all understand?"
Eric Zhang and the others exchanged glances, shook heads, and wore embarrassed expressions. Damn, it was so awkward! They could understand every word Quintin Fang said, but the idea alone was incomprehensible!
Was it indeed the capability of a CEO and a programmer?
Quintin Fang touched his nose, not mocking them. First, they were limited by the constraints of the era; their mindset was still fixed on the technical level, not realizing the imminent transformation of the internet.
After all, the concepts of Web 1.0 and 2.0 will not be summarized by people until next year.
Secondly, there wasn't a significant difference in the technical aspects between Web 2.0 and 1.0; it was primarily a fundamental difference in thinking.
The most crucial point was that Quintin Fang did not elaborate on the difference between Web 1.0 and 2.0.
Especially the concepts of decentralization, openness, and sharing in the 2.0 vision.
Because he wanted implementers not to invent an enemy out of thin air.
He knew very well that now ByteSphere, TradeNex, and others were essentially on the path of Web 2.0, but they were still in a stage of experimentation, and the internet's bubble left them too busy to pay attention.
Once they grasp the core concept of Web 2.0, with their insights, the future will become more apparent, undoubtedly propelling the company onto the fast development track.
This was something Quintin Fang didn't want to see.
With that in mind, Quintin Fang smiled and said, "Not understanding is perfectly fine. You'll know in the future. Now, if any of you have questions about me, feel free to ask."
"Uh, well, I've had a question for a while, but..." The group exchanged glances, and one of them, a slightly overweight typical programmer with glasses that almost equaled the bottom of a beer bottle, hesitated as he stammered.
Before Quintin Fang could speak, Ella Su whispered to Quintin Fang, "Mr. Fang, his name is Frank Luo, and I recruited him from Luma Corporation!"
"Frank Luo, right? Don't hold back, speak your mind!"
Understanding, Quintin Fang nodded and smiled, "Today I'm here to let everyone know me, and I want to get to know everyone too. We'll all be a team in the future, and only by understanding each other can we do better."
"Alright! Forgive my frankness, the current internet is in a winter, and many internet companies are bankrupt. Even venture capital firms are tightening their funds."
Frank Luo looked at Quintin Fang, exuding a maturity different from his age, and hesitated momentarily before saying, "Once the company faces a funding shortage, securing financing is challenging. I don't know if you..."
Others immediately turned their gaze to Quintin Fang, as this was a concern they all shared.
Although Ella Su had promised competitive salaries when she recruited them, comparing it to industry-leading levels, seeing how young Quintin Fang was, who knew if the high-level so-called wage was just a promise?
Upon hearing this, Quintin Fang understood Frank Luo's concerns, even picking up on the unspoken message.
It was simply about worrying that he didn't have enough money and, given the current internet environment, fearing that the company would collapse and go bankrupt soon after joining him.
Regarding this, Quintin Fang could understand Frank Luo's thoughts, and he was not wrong. ByteSphere, with over a hundred million users, was seeking funding, even considering selling off ByteSphere.
Starting his own company, not even qualifying as a shell company, it was customary for him to have such concerns.
After a moment of thought, Quintin Fang confidently said, "Regarding funds, you don't have to worry. I have enough funds to support the company's development. We don't even need to seek financing. My funds can support the company's development all the way to going public."
"Uh, really?" Frank Luo and others expressed doubt.
Before finding a profitable point, any early-stage internet company burns tens of millions of dollars, and as the scale grows, the size of the funds will further expand.
This Mr. Fang is so young and daring to make such a grand statement!
Ella Su joked from the side, "Don't underestimate Mr. Fang. He's a billionaire in real terms now. And every penny he has earned is by his own efforts!"
A billionaire!!!
Frank Luo and others widened their eyes, showing a trace of disbelief. Damn, are we hearing this right? He's a billionaire, and every penny is earned by himself?
When did earning money become so easy?
And he seems to be only eighteen or nineteen!
When I was damn eighteen or nineteen, I was still figuring out how to impress that pretty girl. Well!
For a moment, Frank Luo and the others felt frustrated for having lived so many years in vain, and they became confident in the new company.
"Uh, everyone, don't mind these details!"
Quintin Fang glared at Ella Su, who playfully stuck out her tongue, rolled her eyes, and cleared her throat, "Do you all have any other questions?"
"None!"
Frank Luo and others regained their senses and shook their heads in unison. When understanding the internet, you know it better than we do. Plus, being so wealthy, I can't think of any reason this new company wouldn't succeed.
Quintin Fang looked around and said, "Alright, since you all have no questions for me, then I'd like to ask, would you like to join the Futurix team?"
"We do!" Eric Zhang and others said in unison.
Quintin Fang nodded and turned to Ella Su, "Continue to introduce the members of our team to me."
"Sure, Mr. Fang!"
Ella Su nodded and briefly introduced the ten people present.
The ten individuals were Eric Zhang, Frank Luo, Itai Tan, Jeff Wang, Kale Li, Larry Chen, Marvin Li, Max Wang, Nick Zhao, and Olin Feng.
Quintin Fang listened quietly. Although these people had impressive resumes, he knew they were not the top engineers of their respective companies, nor were they the renowned technical experts of the future.
But he didn't mind. Futurix was starting, and they didn't need those technical wizards for now.
Of course, he also knew that those technical experts were treasures of their respective companies. Before Futurix made achievements, they couldn't be recruited quickly by Ella Su, no matter how glib she was.
For now, Ella Su did a great job in recruiting these people.
After a while, Ella Su finished the introductions, and Quintin Fang said, "First of all, welcome you all to join the Futurix team. I believe you won't regret your choice Today. Secondly, no matter what promises Ella Su made to you before, I acknowledge them all."
"Thank you, Mr. Fang!" the group said happily.
Quintin Fang smiled and turned his head. "Ella, is the company registered, and the office space leased?"
"It's all done. According to your requirements, Futurix Limited has been officially registered, and the office space is rented on the nineteenth floor of Starlit Building, and it has been redecorated!" Ella Su nodded.
Quintin Fang glanced at the time and smiled, "It's not early now. I'll treat everyone to lunch. In the afternoon, we'll go to the office and plan the next steps of our work!"
After speaking, he, Ella Su, and the others left the café and had lunch at the hotel's Western restaurant nearby. Later, they rested in their respective hotel rooms.
At two o'clock in the afternoon, Quintin Fang and the others, led by Ella Su, arrived at the office space on the nineteenth floor of the Starlit Building, not far from the Oceanaries Hotel.
The office space was quite ample, covering over a thousand square meters. In addition to the work area, there were relaxation areas, fitness areas, and so on, allowing employees to have a place to unwind amidst their busy work.
This was something Quintin Fang had specifically instructed Ella Su to arrange. The purpose was straightforward; he had the means, and his vision was set on big international companies. Thus, the office environment should align with those big multinational companies.
Of course, using such a large office area for a startup team of twelve people could be seen as extravagant and wasteful.
But Quintin Fang didn't mind. Currently, the team was indeed small, but once Futurix went live and started developing, the team would grow. This way, they wouldn't have to move again later.
After a tour of the office area, Quintin Fang smiled and asked, "How is it? Are you all satisfied with the office space?"
"Yes, of course!" everyone laughed.
"As long as you're satisfied!"
Quintin Fang continued, "Next, let's talk about the product we are about to develop, Futurix. It's a real-name social network that's different from ByteSphere's virtual social core."
"In other words, our first competitor is ByteSphere!"
Hiss!
Eric Zhang and the others took a sharp intake of breath.
