The man then breathed in Gwen Wen's ear: "If the Lu family see us, do you think they will throw you back into prison or convict you of committing adultery as soon as you get married to their young master and just privately kill you?"

Gwen Wen's heart went cold in an instant. No, she must not go back, she must not die!

With Gwen no longer struggling, the man started bustling on her!

Gwen Wen recovered herself and bit the man's tongue hard; the smell of blood immediately spread through their mouths.

Even if she could not call for help, she was not ready to allow this man take away her virginity!

"PSST!You!"

The man released her from the pain, and Gwen took the opportunity to break loose his grasp, slamming the bedside lamp in her panic.

Less than half a minute later, someone came knocking at the door. "Lady Wen, what happen inside? I am coming in?"

Gwen Wen stared into the darkness of the night at the man in front of her, trying to see what he looked like, but she could see nothing except his cold, piercing eyes.

Opening her mouth, Gwen Wen refrained herself from calling out; the coldness in the man's eyes made her shudder.

The man looked to her eyes deeply for a long time and finally, rolled out of bed; with a swift climbing and jumping, he was out of the balcony and disappeared into the infinite darkness.

"No, it's ok," Gwen Wen said, her lips moving as she slowly recovered. "I knocked over the lamp. I'll just clean it up and you don't have to come in."

Not until the footsteps outside the door disappeared did she clutch the quilt tightly around her body and run barefoot to the balcony; she checked every angle of the darkness vigilantly and saw no sign of that man's figure, then returned to the room and locked up the balcony door; she opened the curtain to let the moonlight through to break the suffocating darkness of the room and breathed a sigh of relief, and lay back on the bed.

Hugh Lu lay peacefully on the other side of the bed, emitting warmth that she was desperate for now; still shaking, Gwen Wen crept up to him and gingerly hugged his arm.

Hugh Lu's outline seemed softened a lot in the moonlight; compared with that man's chilling eyes, Hugh Lu was more warm and reliable; Gwen Wen realized that she had to lean on him to feel at ease.

Gwen Wen woke up early the next morning; the shock and sleeplessness of last night left her a black circle around her eyes, she got up and went for breakfast.

Suddenly, from Hugh Lu's bedroom, a servant's voice screamed: "Help! Someone help, young master was injured!"

Followed by Hugh Lu's mother and a group of anxious people, Master was the first one to rush out of his door and into Hugh Lu's bedroom.

How did Hugh Lu get hurt? Gwen Wen dropped her porridge spoon on the table wondering.

She hurried back to the bedroom, and before Gwen Wen could see what was happening, she was slapped in the face.

At the impact, Gwen Wen's head was threw to one side, her face burning.

"How exactly do take care of Hugh!"
Nancy Ye exerted her full force to slap Gwen, as if she was an killer, hatred and murderous intent surging in her eyes like a tsunami.

Turning her head, Gwen Wen saw three bloody gashes on Hugh Lu's arm through the crowd, and pressed forward in surprise. "It can't be," she said. "Yesterday there was nothing. How?”

"Your only job is to look after Hugh, but now you said you don’t know how! I think that you are still bearing the grudge and trying to kill my son!"

"No, it is not me, I didn't..."

Over and over, Gwen Wen pondered on where all these three wounds had come from, and whether Hugh Lu had waken up to scratch them himself. But that was impossible!

Was it, last night...
