by S. Q 16:49,Oct 09,2020
The next moment, the cop returned, and the first thing he did was uncuff Gwen Wen: "You can go."
Turning to Susan Zhang and Lily Liu: "You two stay!"

Susan Zhang and Lily Liu were startled as the handcuffs were placed on Lily Liu's hands: "Sir, I think you made a mistake here. She was the one who stole the card. We, we are the ones who report her!"

"Someone has come forward to prove that Gwen Wen's card was not stolen, and Lily Liu is suspected of defamation. Given the severity of the violation, she will be detained."

Someone had testified for her? Who could testify that Gwen Wen wasn't the one who stole the card? Was it that mysterious man?

Gwen Wen rushed out of the interrogation room, oblivious to the pleas of Susan Zhang and Lily Liu.

Out at the gate stood a tall figure, in a suit with a broad back that looked very much like the one Gwen had seen at night.

"Stop, stop there!

Gwen Wen thrust through the crowd of people at the police station, but she couldn't catch him up.

Finally I took out my cell phone and called him.

The moment the phone rang, she saw that the man at the gate pick up the phone!

Sure enough, it was him!

"Gwen Wen, how stupid can you be to ‘buy’ yourself into the police station!
Even such clowns can bully you to such a state?"
The man's voice came over the phone, giving Gwen Wen a strangely reassuring force.

"You came to the police station to testify my innocence?"
She held the phone and moved closer to him, her heart pounding.

"Or what? You think Lus are gonna help you? Come on, how can the Lu family still be willing to help you when you're a sophomore? In addition to me, no one will help you again and again in this world!"

"Thank you for coming to help me today. If you didn't show up for me, I am not able to go back to Lu's house tonight. They won't let me off lightly..."

"Good girl, I shall be content to see you so good in bed as well."
The man said and hung up the phone.

Gwen Wen watched the man in front of her hang up and put the phone away and got more certain that it was the man!

When the man started to walk away, Gwen Wen hurried forward, grabbed him by the sleeve and walked a few steps around him; she froze as she saw his face.

"Hugh Lu, it's you?"

Hugh Lu saw Gwen Wen and frowned. "Why are you here?" he asked.

"Seriously? You're still playing this game with me? You're the one who got me out. Do you enjoy playing two roles and manipulating me in your palms?”

How could she resist him, if he wanted to torture her and made her life miserable; why bother harassed her like this, play her like this in the dark?

Was it fun to see her treading on the thin ice, timidly and afraid at any second of falling into the bottom of infinite sea of Lu Family.

She had gingerly and apprehensive by day and fearful by night while he sat by and enjoyed it!

Maybe he had long woken up from the coma; maybe he was the one that took her out of the prison; maybe that was his method of revenge, the method of the successor of Lu Family, to torture her hard, to break her down, to drive her crazy!

"Psycho!”

When Hugh Lu shook off her hand and started to walk toward the car waiting outside the gate, Gwen Wen stopped him and snatched the phone out of his hand: "Don't try to argue, I just called you back, I have proof!"

She flipped through Hugh Lu's call log, and the first one came two minutes ago!

But...That number, was not Gwen Wen's...

“How, how can that be!”

"You think too highly of yourself, Gwen Wen, I'm here on business, not to save you, and I don't even know how or when you got here; besides, do you really naively think I'm would have come to your rescue for the mercy’s sake?"

Hugh Lu, with a wry smile on his lips, snatched the phone back from her hand and strode away.

Gwen Wen stood there dumbfounded.

Was it simply a coincidence?
