chapter 10 stunned

Mr. Huang had arrived!
A convoy of five luxury cars, led by a Bentley, exuded an imposing presence.
In Dong Hai City, Hudson Huang's name carried significant weight, with numerous properties to his name and a net worth ranking among the top three.
What was most astounding was how Hudson Huang had risen from having nothing to becoming incredibly wealthy in less than five years.
Collaborating with him almost guaranteed a profitable outcome.
The Lin Group had invested considerable resources in this project, and Agatha Lin had devoted over half a year of hard work, often burning the midnight oil and putting in overtime.
Finally, the project had been successfully negotiated, and it was time to seal the deal.
No one had anticipated that the infamously hot-tempered Hudson Huang would personally come to Lin's for the contract signing—an unprecedented occurrence.
"Mr. Huang!" Donovan Lin was already waiting by the entrance. Upon seeing Hudson Huang's car arrive, he rushed forward to extend his welcome. "Welcome, welcome!"
Hudson Huang merely nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping across the surroundings.
"Where is Miss Agatha Lin?"
Donovan Lin hadn't informed Agatha Lin of Hudson Huang's visit for the contract signing.
Instead, he had taken several high-ranking company executives along to wait at the entrance, even braving the chilly wind.
"Well, Agatha Lin is quite occupied at the moment and doesn't have the time to personally greet Mr. Huang, so I, as the CEO, had to step in." Donovan Lin explained with a touch of embarrassment and feigned grievance.
Upon hearing this, several senior executives felt their anger surge. Is Agatha Lin busy? She was indeed preoccupied—occupied in her lavish private office, engaged in who-knows-what activities with her homeless husband.
Yet, they were called upon by the President and other senior executives to personally welcome Mr. Huang, their distinguished guest. The display of grandeur was extravagant!
They had expected Hudson Huang to be furious, but to their astonishment, he simply nodded without a hint of displeasure on his face.
"It appears that the rumors are accurate. Agatha Lin has a close relationship with Mr. Huang."
"Damn it! Being a woman is really a stroke of luck. She's not only attractive but also possesses connections that allow her to negotiate any project. We, on the other hand, work ourselves to the bone!"
"Agatha Lin is acting with such audacity and recklessness. Does she truly believe the Lin Group belongs to her?"
"Even the CEO comes out to welcome distinguished guests in the cold, while she luxuriates in her air-conditioned office! Agatha Lin is utterly shameless."
Several senior executives exchanged knowing glances, their disdain for Agatha Lin growing by the second. However, in Hudson Huang's eyes, this was all par for the course.
If Agatha Lin had come out to personally welcome him, he would have been taken aback.
Even someone as influential as Brother Fei worked at the behest of that mysterious big brother. Hudson Huang would never expect Agatha Lin to extend such a gesture.
"Please." Donovan Lin extended his hand in a welcoming gesture. The group proceeded into the Lin Group building, heading directly to the elevator that would take them to the upper floors.
News of Mr. Huang's arrival spread rapidly throughout the company. The fact that Agatha Lin hadn't personally greeted him but had instead made President Donovan Lin and several other company executives wait outside in the cold for almost an hour was met with widespread disapproval.
It was deemed unacceptable and utterly arrogant behavior. Many employees felt that Agatha Lin was acting audaciously, seemingly relying on her close relationship with Mr. Huang.
A sense of outrage swept through the ranks, and numerous employees began to vent their frustrations and harshly criticize Agatha Lin behind her back.
Words like "mean" "sly" and "deceptive" were thrown around.
Some employees even went so far as to secretly spit at the door of Agatha Lin's office as they passed by.
In the hearts of many, a clear line was drawn, and an unspoken pledge was made never to associate too closely with such a woman.
Agatha Lin was seen as a master pretender, and her true character was now exposed.
Donovan Lin took the lead, offering insights into the workings of the Lin Group, all the while expressing his respect and admiration for Mr. Huang.
His years of experience in the business world allowed him to convey his words smoothly, making everyone feel as though they were under a warm, gentle breeze.
However, Hudson Huang appeared uninterested and wore an expression of polite indifference. His attention seemed elsewhere.
"Mr. Huang, the conference room is this way, please follow me." Donovan Lin maintained his smile as he continued, "I've already arranged for the contract to be prepared. Please have a seat, and I will summon Agatha Lin."
The fact that Hudson Huang insisted on signing the contract only with Agatha Lin puzzled many.
It was unprecedented, and they couldn't help but wonder about the true nature of the relationship between Hudson Huang and Agatha Lin.
Furthermore, given Hudson Huang's substantial wealth, what could he possibly see in a woman like Agatha Lin?
Several executives contemplated these thoughts privately, shaking their heads in bewilderment.
"No, no, no."
Hudson Huang shook his head decisively. "How can I let Miss Lin come to me? I should go and find her in person."
Upon hearing this, Donovan Lin was taken aback, as were several executives. What did this mean?
Was Mr. Huang expressing his anger?
It was clear to anyone that encountering such a generous person could lead to resentment, especially considering that Agatha Lin was just an ordinary employee of the Lin Company.
Even if there was an ambiguous relationship between Agatha Lin and Mr. Huang, not giving him any face in front of so many people seemed like a risky move.
Thinking this, the people around couldn't help but secretly relish the situation.
"Mr. Huang, this..." Donovan Lin pretended to be troubled. "Mr. Huang, Agatha Lin is still young and inexperienced. Please don't be upset."
The more Donovan Lin said this, the more he hoped to provoke Hudson Huang's anger. If this project were to falter or fail because of this, the Lin family couldn't afford such a setback.
"Where is Miss Lin?" Hudson Huang waved his hand, his brow furrowing slightly. He had no patience for Donovan Lin's chatter. "Lead the way!"
Donovan Lin exchanged a glance with one of the executives, and the executive promptly stepped forward. It was evident that Hudson Huang was quite upset.
The group swiftly made their way to Agatha Lin's office.
Word quickly spread throughout the building, and many people found reasons to be on the same floor as Agatha Lin's office.
They were eager to witness Agatha Lin's reaction, having heard of her apparent arrogance.
Meanwhile, in her office, Agatha Lin was feeling restless. She had never imagined having such a luxurious office, and Donovan Lin had personally arranged it for her.
Something about the situation seemed off.
"Orion Jiang, what exactly does my uncle want?" Agatha Lin asked anxiously. "I have a feeling that something is not right."
Orion Jiang, sitting on the sofa, replied casually, "It does seem a bit unusual."
"The opulence of this office doesn't seem fitting for you." Agatha Lin remarked, her tone tinged with sarcasm. "Orion Jiang, your standards must be incredibly high now. Weren't you homeless not too long ago?"
Before Agatha Lin could say more, there was a knock on her office door.
"Please come in." Agatha Lin said.
Outside, a senior executive frowned, feeling dissatisfied. Agatha Lin hadn't bothered to open the door herself. Why should he?
He opened the door and couldn't help but think, "Agatha Lin, you're in for trouble."
"Mr. Huang, Miss Lin is inside. An executive at my level may not be qualified to enter," he said, dripping with sarcasm and disdain.
He thought he was aligned with Hudson Huang against Agatha Lin, but to his surprise, Hudson Huang glanced at him, frowned, and retorted, "Indeed, you're not worthy."
Before anyone could react, Hudson Huang transformed. He slightly bowed, put on a polite smile, and walked in respectfully.
"Ms. Li, I apologize for the intrusion." Hudson Huang said with a tone that suggested he was meeting someone of great importance.
The executive who had mocked Agatha Lin was left dumbfounded.
Donovan Lin was stunned, and it seemed like he couldn't find the right words. The surrounding employees were equally bewildered.
What was happening?
