chapter 12 Got sick again

by Duke 14:15,Sep 28,2023
Hudson Huang's fiery temper was renowned, and he hadn't climbed to his current position in just five years by being soft-hearted.
With a disdainful snort, he ceased speaking and turned to leave.
The executive, who had previously ridiculed Agatha Lin, suddenly froze in place.
His face flushed with embarrassment, and he was utterly perplexed. Could it be that Mr. Huang was so angry because of his comments?
"Mr. Lin..." He looked at Donovan Lin, his eyes filled with grievance.
"Place your resignation report on my desk tomorrow." Donovan Lin sighed in helplessness. This executive was his subordinate, and he couldn't understand why Hudson Huang had wanted to fire him.
However, considering the recent project launch and the uncertainty that lay ahead, Donovan Lin dared not further provoke Hudson Huang's anger.
Upon hearing this, the executive felt a deep sense of despair.
He had been fired just because of a few mocking words directed at Agatha Lin. He was a senior executive within the Lin Group!
The people around them fell into an uneasy silence. The abrupt dismissal for such a minor reason was perplexing.
Damian Lin, Donovan Lin's son, approached him and furrowed his brow. "Dad, what's the relationship between Agatha Lin and Hudson Huang? It can't be a romantic relationship, judging by Hudson Huang's attitude."
It was indeed unlikely. Who was Hudson Huang? He wielded significant influence in both the legitimate and underground circles of Dong Hai City and even the Lin family treated him with respect.
Donovan Lin simply said, "Investigate."
The unexpected turn of events had completely disrupted his plans. If Agatha Lin did indeed have a connection with Hudson Huang, it would complicate matters significantly.
Damian Lin nodded and left promptly to conduct the investigation.
Inside the office, Agatha Lin reacted swiftly. She approached Orion Jiang, her hands clasped behind her back, and gazed at him with a serious expression, as though she were examining a specimen.
"What's going on?" Agatha Lin wrinkled her nose. "Don't tell me this has nothing to do with you; I won't believe it."
Orion Jiang, with his half-closed eyes, responded calmly, "I admit, it does have something to do with me."
As expected!
Agatha Lin had been puzzled by why Orion Jiang had insisted that only he could sign this project and that no one from the Lin family could sign it.
He had even confidently asserted that Donovan Lin and his son would eventually beg him to return to work. It was clear that he had orchestrated this.
But how could a homeless man like him possibly know Hudson Huang?
The image of Hudson Huang standing before Orion Jiang, showing utmost respect upon entering the room, flashed through Agatha Lin's mind.
"I know Little Huang." Orion Jiang admitted.
Seeing Agatha Lin staring at him and waiting for him to explain, Orion Jiang smiled, "Before he became rich, he was also a homeless man. Once he was about to starve to death, so I gave him half a steamed bun, so he owes me a favor."
Today, he is here to return the favor.
Agatha Lin snorted.
"You think I will believe it?"
She bit her lip, finding all of this unbelievable, and Orion Jiang's explanation seemed rather childish to her.
"Do you believe that good people are rewarded?" Orion Jiang said seriously.
Agatha Lin pondered for a moment and replied, "You mean, you are a good person?"
"No, you're a good person." Orion Jiang stood up. "So there will be good rewards."
Orion Jiang would never forget that candy in his life. In times of danger and facing death countless times, it was the candy wrapper he carried with him that had given him hope and strength.
"Okay, don't overthink it; let's consider the matter settled." Orion Jiang said. "Let's go; it's time to finish work."
"Huh? We've only just started working."
Orion Jiang paid no heed to her protests and pulled her out of the office.
As they made their way out of the Lin Group office building, everyone they encountered on the road kept their distance and dared not approach.
Agatha Lin could sense that they were somewhat apprehensive of him. Orion Jiang, however, paid it no mind.
Riding an electric bike, he took Agatha Lin directly to the BMW 4S store.
"This isn't the way home. Are you planning to sell me?" Agatha Lin called out from behind, her voice nearly drowned out by the wind.
Given her looks, she might fetch a good price.
Orion Jiang ignored her and parked the electric bike in front of the BMW 4S store.
"What are we doing here?" Agatha Lin asked, surprised to see the blue sky and white clouds sign.
"We're not buying a car."
She couldn't afford a car with her current financial situation.
"Who says we're not buying one?" Orion Jiang replied, pulling her into the store.
As soon as they entered the showroom, Agatha Lin spotted several new cars on display, instantly captivated by their beauty.
They were so gorgeous!
While she had considered buying a car to avoid the discomfort of commuting in cold weather, she had only considered more affordable options like the Chery QQ or the Jetta.
A visit to a BMW store hadn't crossed her mind; she wouldn't dare to dream of owning one.
The salesmen at the service desk spotted Orion Jiang and his two companions as they entered the showroom.
They observed them closely but remained in place, offering no assistance.
"Miss, are you interested in purchasing a car?" A new female salesperson, noticing that no one had greeted the customers upon their arrival, stood up and approached to inquire.
Several other salesmen, aware of Agatha Lin's expression and apparent lack of affluence, exchanged smirks but concealed their disdain.
After all, they were all human, and it was evident from Agatha Lin's demeanor that she didn't possess the financial means to buy a high-end car.
Wealthy customers typically exuded a certain level of confidence, and these experienced salesmen couldn't be bothered to waste their time on individuals who seemed unlikely to make a purchase.
"Well, yes, I'd like to buy one." Agatha Lin stammered, unsure of how to respond. Orion Jiang spoke up bluntly, "If you're not here to buy a car, then why are you here?"
He then turned to Agatha Lin and asked, "Which one do you like?"
"Uh?" Agatha Lin looked at Orion Jiang, wondering if he was being impulsive again. What did he mean by asking which one she liked?
She liked all of them, but her financial situation was a far cry from affording any of them.
"Orion Jiang, let's go back." Agatha Lin suggested, her face flushing. The laughter of the salesmen in the distance only added to her embarrassment.
"Please recommend a suitable option for her." Orion Jiang told the saleswoman, ignoring Agatha Lin's protests.
"This five-series is the latest model for this year. Its power configuration should meet the needs of this young lady, and I believe it complements the young lady's personality very well." the new saleswoman replied, avoiding typical sales clichés.
Orion Jiang turned to Agatha Lin and noticed her keen interest in the car. He nodded in agreement with the recommendation.
"That settles it then."
"Huh?" This time, both Agatha Lin and the saleswoman exclaimed in unison.
Several other salesmen in the distance couldn't help but turn their heads in astonishment.
What was happening?
Less than five minutes since entering the store, and they were considering a purchase already?
It had to be some sort of joke.
Couldn't they at least inquire about the price?
Maybe take it for a test drive?
When pretending in front of women, one should at least consider the consequences.
"Sir, as this car is a new model, our store currently has no discounts available." the female salesperson kindly reminded him.
"No problem at all." Orion Jiang replied, taking out a bank card from his pocket. "The PIN is six six. You can handle the paperwork and associated costs, and tally it all together."
It took the saleswoman a moment to register what had just occurred. She swiftly accepted the bank card with both hands and hurried off to process the order, her excitement palpable.
"Orion Jiang, don't be absurd. This car is incredibly expensive. How could you possibly afford it?" Agatha Lin implored, her anxiety mounting.
After all, he had been a homeless man, and his survival had been a daily struggle.
How could he suddenly possess the means to purchase such an expensive car?
The price tag of this vehicle was likely approaching half a million yuan!
Agatha Lin hurriedly followed the saleswoman, worried that the bank card might not have enough balance, which would be utterly embarrassing!
