"Auntie, what were you discussing with my mother?"
Orion Jiang inquired.
The neighbor's aunt blushed and waved her hands frantically. "Oh, nothing, nothing."
Afterward, she hurried away, dejected. Her intention had been to tease Cara Su's family.
They had rejected the boy she introduced, which led to her getting scolded. However, she now realized the folly of her plan.
The government office errand boy only earned 4,000 to 5,000 yuan a month. He could never afford such an expensive car in his lifetime!
Cara Su remained in place, stunned, and Jasper Lin was equally speechless for a long while. They found it hard to believe.
"This car..." Cara Su took a deep breath, thinking that Agatha Lin was probably playing a prank.
She couldn't fathom how Orion Jiang could afford it, and she knew that Agatha Lin certainly couldn't.
"Where's your electric bike?" Jasper Lin noticed that Agatha Lin's electric bike was missing and asked, "You spent over two thousand yuan on it."
"The 4S store had a special trade-in event, so we exchanged it." Agatha Lin replied, blushing. She couldn't lie convincingly, and Orion Jiang had a straightforward demeanor, answering honestly.
Jasper Lin didn't believe it, and neither did Cara Su. They weren't gullible.
"Actually, there was a lottery..." Agatha Lin started, contemplating how to make her story sound more credible, but she struggled to come up with a convincing lie.
"Orion Jiang bought it!"
She eventually sighed, opting to tell the truth straightforwardly.
Cara Su regarded Orion Jiang with a hint of skepticism, but her expression showed some belief.
This son-in-law who had come to their doorstep had surprised her from the moment he entered their home.
Not only had he staunchly defended himself and humiliated Damian Lin, but he had also been supportive of their family all along.
Though she hadn't entirely accepted Orion Jiang, she couldn't help but warm up to him.
"Alright, you don't need to explain to us." Cara Su said casually.
In any case, she felt much better after seeing their annoying neighbor's aunt silenced.
She gave Orion Jiang a serious look, said nothing, and pushed Jasper Lin back home.
"Did my mother believe it?" Agatha Lin asked in a hushed tone.
"Does it matter?" Orion Jiang replied.
From a distance, Orion Jiang observed the aggressive stance of the neighbor's aunt and had no intention of being polite.
He wanted to help Cara Su regain her dignity. His mother-in-law should not be bullied by anyone.
Orion Jiang suggested, "Let's go home and have dinner." He held a high opinion of Cara Su's cooking skills.
Despite his worldly travels and encounters with million-dollar meals, he had never tasted home-cooked food.
Cara Su noticed Orion Jiang's peculiar expression and wondered if her cooking was genuinely that good.
"Orion Jiang, let me ask you a question." Jasper Lin hesitated after a while, "Did you really buy that car?"
He found it hard to believe that the expensive car was now parked outside.
Orion Jiang replied casually, "Well, it's just a car, no need to make a fuss. When Dad, your legs and feet recover, I'll buy you another one."
His words cast a solemn silence over the room. Orion Jiang then raised his head and noticed the helpless and lonely expressions on Jasper Lin's face, the redness in Cara Su's eyes, and Agatha Lin's sigh filled with sadness.
"My legs and feet..." Jasper Lin smiled bitterly, shaking his head. He knew there was no hope for his recovery; he was a cripple for life.
Orion Jiang then claimed, "I know a doctor who is a top expert in this field. He should have a way."
Jasper Lin raised his head suddenly but soon realized that Orion Jiang, a homeless man, was probably just bragging.
"Really?" Agatha Lin asked eagerly. She had sensed that Orion Jiang was not an ordinary person, and despite their brief acquaintance, he had already revealed some of his capabilities.
"Of course. He's currently busy abroad, but once he's available, I'll ask him to come to Dong Hai City." Orion Jiang said casually.
"Really, really?" Jasper Lin inquired anxiously.
Orion Jiang nodded, reassuring him, "Don't worry."
Jasper Lin's excitement quickly faded, and Cara Su patted his hand gently to soothe him.
She was now faced with the question of whether or not she could trust her new son-in-law.
After dinner, Jasper Lin retreated to his room, Agatha Lin went to her room to prepare materials for the afternoon, and Orion Jiang settled on the living room sofa to watch TV.
"Orion Jiang, come here." Cara Su called out.
Orion Jiang walked over to the kitchen and found Cara Su holding a knife in her hand. His demeanor remained calm, and a faint smile played on his lips.
"Mom, is there something you need?" Orion Jiang asked politely.
Cara Su wasn't concerned with the formality of their relationship. She gazed at Orion Jiang with seriousness and said, "Who are you really?
What is your intention in getting close to Agatha Lin? If you have any plans to harm her, I'll fight you to the death!"
Cara Su was not naive, and Orion Jiang's behavior did not align with her perception of a homeless man or the image of a worthless son-in-law she had in mind.
On the contrary, Orion Jiang exuded strength and even dominance.
His recent purchase of a high-value car only added to the puzzle.
Could he truly be a homeless person?
"Mom, I can assure you that I have no ill intentions towards Agatha Lin, or towards you and Dad." Orion Jiang replied calmly. "I came to Agatha Lin to protect her from being mistreated by others."
Cara Su continued to gaze at Orion Jiang in silence for a while before finally asking, "Why?"
"She saved my life." Orion Jiang replied, taking a deep breath.
His mind wandered back fifteen years, recalling memories he couldn't yet share. "There are certain things I can't reveal at the moment, but please trust me. When the time is right, you'll know everything."
Creak...
The door to the room suddenly opened, and Cara Su swiftly put the knife away, lowering her voice as she said, "I'll believe you for now, but you must not harm Agatha Lin, and you must not bring her any trouble."
Orion Jiang nodded in response to Cara Su's request, indicating that he understood her concerns.
Afterward, he turned to Agatha Lin and asked, "Have you gathered all the information?"
Agatha Lin nodded, holding a folder of documents in her hand. "Yes, I've got everything we need."
Orion Jiang then guided Agatha Lin out of the kitchen and towards his car. Without wasting any time, he drove her to the Lin Group.

Donovan Lin wore a stern expression as he questioned Damian Lin. "Have you managed to find out the truth?"
Damian Lin, with a trace of disdain on his face, responded, "We've got the information.
Before Hudson Huang became wealthy, he was also homeless, nearly starving to death.
It was Orion Jiang who once gave him half a steamed bun and saved his life.

"Dad, don't worry. People like Hudson Huang, after amassing wealth, would do anything to maintain their image.
He'll cut ties with Orion Jiang as soon as he repays his debt to a homeless man!"
He continued, "Once Agatha Lin exhausts this favor, who else will be able to help them?"
Donovan Lin's eyes narrowed. He was well-acquainted with individuals like Hudson Huang.
They were ruthless behind the scenes but had to maintain a facade of respectability.
Repaying a debt from his homeless days would indeed boost Hudson Huang's public image, but it was unlikely to change his ruthless nature.
"But that's all there is to it." he thought.
The humiliation they endured from Orion Jiang, they were determined to pay back twofold now!
"Is everything set up on the factory construction site?" he asked.
"It's all set." Damian Lin replied with a cold smirk." Agatha Lin is definitely going to regret continuing to take on this project herself!"
