Chapter 5

*Lilith’s POV*

I lean back into Kosta, and we begin watching the movie. I don't know if we will give this a try or if when Kosta Goes home, that will be it, but I'm going to enjoy this moment.

*Kosta’s POV*

I feel Lilith fall asleep, and I take. the plate off her and place it on the coffee table and lay her down on the couch, and get a blanket from the bedroom

I get my phone out and call my Dad

“Hello?”

“Hey Dad, my divorce is final, isn't it?”

My dad sighs

“Kosta, you have to try the marriage and forget Your ex. This is a smart business move for us!”

“No, Dad, you saw who Nic was and what her family is. They helped us already remember the contracts I signed?”

My dad goes quiet then; I hear him moving papers in the background.

“I know you want to believe that me, Delpozzo is her father, but his daughter is Nicole, not Lilith!”

I chuckle and look at a family photo on a shelf and see Lilith cuddling into her father.

I take a photo of the photo and send it to my dad

“Is that proof enough, Dad?”

My dad stays quiet, so I take another photo and send it

“Okay, I get it, Kosta, but what do you want from me? What is done is done; I can't change it.”

“I want you to make the Divorce finial. It shouldn't be difficult. We didn't consummate the marriage, Dad, and I want to move on with Lilith. She is the mother of my child, and my feeling for Nic has only gotten stronger.”

“The mother of your child?”

“Yes, Dad Lilith had my Daughter, and I am not abandoning her!”

“Are you sure it is your daughter?”

“For fuck’s sake, Dad, yes, it is my child. I know Lilith hasn't seen anyone else. She focused on work. “

My dad goes quiet

“I’m a grandfather?”

“Yes, Dad, you are, but if you don't get the divorce final, you won't be. Lilith is already anticipating another move out of fear we will be ripped apart again, so you have tonight to fix things. I won't Lose Lilith again.”

“I will do it tonight, Kosta, and I'm sorry for all of this. If I had known who Lilith was, I would have stopped the wedding. You would have to go to our office in Serbia for a few months tho you remember that I told you a couple of weeks back?”

I sigh and look over at Nic sleeping on the couch.

“I Remember Dad, and I don't want to leave Nic, but I understand I have to go. I need time to fix my Relationship with Lilith first.”

My dad chuckles

“You have a month to fix what I broke. If you need my help, I will”

I hang up the phone and take the dirty plates to the kitchen and clean them

Then I go and check on Mila

I look down into her crib and smile. She is perfect, and I can see pieces of myself in her

I make sure she is warm, then I go back to Lilith and pick her up and carry her to the bedroom and cover her up

Then I make sure the house is locked, and all the lights are turned off, and then I get in bed with Lilith and wrap my arms around her

I know we can make this work. I only hope that she isn't going to leave me again when she gets scared I wish I never went through with the wedding.

*Lilith’s POV*

When I wake up to Mila crying, I am surprised that Kosta is in bed with me

I move out of his embrace, and he wakes up

“What's wrong, Nick?”

“Go back to sleep Kosta, Mila needs a feed.”

Host a sits up and Looks at me, then looks at the time

“How about I make breakfast, and you get Mila.”

I look over at the time and see it's seven am

I smile

“That sounds good.”

I walk to Mila’s room and see her fussing and let out a small giggle. When I see she is trying to eat her little hand, I pick her up, and she immediately begins looking for her milk

I unclip my singlet, and she latches on right away.

I sit in the rocking chair and let her feed Kosta comes in and crouches down beside me, and watches Mila

“Lilith, I want this us; please don't run from me.”

I look over at him and smile

“I won't Run, Kosta, but we have to tell our parents I don't want to hide anymore. We should have come clean in the beginning, and I need assurance that you are divorced because I don't want to be the other woman.”

He kisses me, then moves back and Kisses Mila

“You were never the other woman Lilith. I always wanted you, and I should have fought more against the marriage, but we will have a family dinner with both our parents there and tell them that this is what we want.”

I smile at him

“When will the dinner be?”

He looks down at Mila

“I don't have a lot of work to do today, so how about we make it for tonight? I will help you cook, and they can come here so you and Mila can Rest when you need to.”

I nod

“I can do that, but we will have to go shopping for the ingredients I want to cook for our parents.”

Kosta grins

“Then it's settled, Nic. We will have the dinner tonight, and then they will know that we are serious about this”

I look down at Mila, who has fallen back to sleep

And I get up and begin getting clean nappies and a new suit for her

Host a takes Mila from my arms and looks down at her

“Let me change her, Lilith. I want to prove that you and Mila are my world, and I want to help with everything. Now eat the breakfast, sweetheart. I will be out soon.”

I leave the room and go to the kitchen

When I see the breakfast Kosta has made, something in my heart clicks back into place

Whatever it takes, I will keep Kosta in my life.

I begin to eat breakfast, and I find a notepad to

Write down what the ingredients we need for dinner are

Then I hear Kosta come into the kitchen holding Mila

He has dressed her in a little bear suit and has placed a headband on her head

He sat next to me and began to eat his breakfast. He looked over at me and watched me as if he was scared I would leave him

So I smile and place my hand on his

“We will work this out, Kosta! Now we have to get to the mall and get the things we need for dinner, and we should call our parents to invite them, or all this will have been for nothing.”
