Chapter 14

*Theo’s POV*

I cradle Mila and wipe away my tears as I walk back to the Room where Kosta and Lilith are when I get to the door; I can’t help but smile.

I see them both cuddled into each other, sleeping on the hospital bed. A nurse comes up next to me and looks at them

“Ah, Young Love”, as she walks towards the bed, I stop her “how long do you think they will be here?” She looks over at me and gives me a warm smile, and rests her hand on my arm. “Lilith woke up while you were getting food, but I would say a few more hours the doctors want to be sure they are both stable.”

I nod and then take a seat in the corner of the room, so I don't get in her way. When the nurse leaves the room, I enjoy the time I have left with baby Mila and try to find a solution to contact Lilith. I know she struggles without regular contact with me or her mother. My phone gets a message on it, and I look down at the screen and smile when I see my assistant has everything ready for Lilith’s and Kosta’s arrival. She has stocked up the fridge and made sure they have plenty of clothing and items to keep Kosta busy and a new laptop for Lilith. I make a mental note to rebuild the cabin and Lilith’s country house for when it is safe to come home.

I look down at Mila sleeping in my arms and smile. If it weren't for her, my daughter would probably never have contacted Kosta again. I hated seeing my daughter so miserable if the few months they were separated.

Now they have a new beginning, and I hope Kosta can overcome the trials his father has put him through. The thought of making your child marry for greed makes me sick I will show Kosta what a loving family is now; I consider him my son in law!

I look back up at the bed, and I see Lilith watching me with Mila. She smiles “hey, Daddy is everything ok?” I look down at Mila, then back at Lilith “everything is fine, sweetie. How are you feeling?” she pauses to think about it “tired, but I'm ok, I'm happy Kosta is here with me. The last thing I remember is him on the ground and sharp pain in my back” I nod, “you got bitten by a black spider, but you will be ok.” Lilith goes to move, but I see Kosta’s arm pull him closer to him. She chuckles “it's like he thinks he is going to lose me” I laugh and then look at her “, you are both going to Hampton's house, sweetie. Natalie is still on the loose, so I am putting you and Kosta into hiding for a while until the police capture her, so you will have to lay low for a while.” Lilith’s eyes widen when she relies on what I have said, then nods “what about work?” I frown “we will discuss that later, sweetheart; for now, rests; you and Kosta will be leaving for the Hampton's in a few hours.” she smiles. “I will be able to call you, right?” I nod. “I am working on getting a burner phone for each of us that can't be traced. We can talk about that. I don't know how tech-savvy Natalie is or how much she knows about you or me, but I want to play it safe at all costs.” Lilith’s face lights up, “that sounds like a good idea. Maybe Kosta and I should ditch our numbers and get new phones. Maybe, Natalie has his phone being tracked” my eyes widen “that's got to be it, Nic maybe she found you both at the cabin and the country house from Kosta’s phone” after hearing that, Kosta sits up and takes his phone out of his pocket and turns it off Lilith does the same thing then they hold their phones out to me “can you get us new phones and sims” I stand up and place Mila in Lilith’s arms then I take the phones and leave the room I go to the police station and give the detective on the case Lilith’s and Kosta’s phone and explain that Natalie could be tracking them through there phones and we are all playing it safe the detective smiles “I will have the phones looked at and keep you updated on the progress of the search I hope that Lilith and Kosta have someplace to stay” I sMile and nod. “I have arranged for them to stay somewhere, but I would like to keep that between Nic and myself” the detective nods, then bids me farewell. I leave the police station and go to the phone store. I get new phones, and sim cards set up, then go back to the hospital and see Lilith and Kosta sitting on the edge of the bed and bags sitting at their feet. My heart sinks because I know it is time for them to go.

*Kosta’s POV*

When I see Theo walk back into the room with the two new iPhones in his hand, I am relieved and sad at the same time I have never been cared for like Theo cares heck my parents married me off for money, so having this sort of affection from Lilith’s dad is new to me. Theo hands us the phones, and we notice that he had the apple genus set them up to our accounts already. I look up and him, “thanks, are you sure Natalie can't track us?” He smiles at me. “I made sure all of that was turned off, and we removed anything that could detect the location of either of you. I place my phone in my pocket, then stand up and hug Theo “thank you for everything” he hugs me back, and then lets me go “, it's time. I will walk you out to the car I have waiting for you, and then I will get your car from the woods and have it freighted for you. I nod “could we have it gone over for anything that could track us? I am not taking any more Risks. We don't need care right away.” Theo looks me in the eyes then smiles. “I will have it looked at” he leads us out of the hospital and then pulls Lilith into his arms and kisses her cheek, then takes Mila and holds her close. “I will figure out how to see you both soon but remember to lay low.”

I help Lilith into the car and get in behind her; then the driver begins to pull away, and our Journey to Hampton's begins

Lilith rests her head on my shoulder and sighs. “This isn't exactly what I had in mind for our future, Kosta.” I chuckle and pat her knee. “Nic, where ever we end up; I am happy because not being able to get to you when you needed me was fucking hard, so I plan to be by your side every second of every day” Lilith stays quiet for a bit, then giggles “even when I go to the toilet are you going to be there to hold my hand?” I shake my head “almost every second of every day, I don't want to be there when you are doing your business, Nic, I love you, but the adventures to the toilet are too much we have to draw a line”, Lilith nods “, so no toilet adventures I can handle that.” I look out the window and go quiet with everything that has happened. My family never bothered to call or check up on me. Do I mean so little to them?”

*Lilith’s POV*

I watch Kosta look out the window and send a silent thank you to God for keeping him safe. I look at Mila sleeping in her car seat and smile. She looks unharmed from our adventure. I am thankful she didn't get hurt when I fell. I reach down and look at the bags my dads assistant brought to the hospital, and I see she has packed a nappy bag for Mila. Some formula then I notice some new blankets for Mila also I unfold one and I place it over her, so she doesn't get cold then I open up the bad with my name on it my eyes light up when I see a Nintendo switch with games in the bag I get it out and check to see if it has battery life. When Kosta hears the start-up noise, he looks over at me and chuckles, then gets the bag packed for him. He lets out an excited whoop when he sees he also switches to the play. He puts his control to the side, then pulls out some snacks and a roast meat roll with fruit salad as a dessert and begins to eat. I look over at him with all his snacks and foods on his lap and chuckle “you good?” I ask him as he stuffs his mouth full of food. “Mmmmm.” is all I manage to get out of him. I place my switch on my lap, and I look back in the bag and get my roast roll out and take a small bite. I still feel nauseous from the spider bite, so I know I shouldn't overeat, or I could upset my stomach when I have eaten more than necessary I look in the bag for a drink and get excited to see a bottle of water and a can of Dr Pepper I choose the water then look over at Kosta “we will be okay won't we?” I lean my head on his shoulder, and he puts one arm around me “we will be fine, Nic, but we have to keep laying low because I don't think Natalie will be so forgiving next time.”
