Chapter 13

*Theo Delpozzo’s Pov*

I saw Lilith Running towards me, and I began walking in her direction. The men surrounding Kosta have their guns pointed at him and the police.

So I speed up. I have to get to my daughter and granddaughter. This nonsense has to end when I see Kosta’s father, and he will have a lot to answer for.

I see Lilith fall, and my heart begins to race. I feel a pull on my arm and a police officer trying to stop me, but I shrug out of his grip and turn to him

“Either you come with me, or you stay behind. I will not have my daughter and granddaughter in harm's way any longer!

He nods and begins running by my side.

When I Reach Lilith, I hear Mila crying, so I move Lilith and take Mila into my arms “it’s an ok little one. I am here now let’s see how mummy is” I move so I can cradle Mila and Lilith in my arms while the police officer checks her vitals and for wounds

When he finds no wounds, he looks up at me, confused “she has no injuries,” I look down at her and pat her cheeks. “Nic, wake up, sweetheart, I am here” I see a black spider crawl out from under Lilith’s hair, and I look up at the police officer “we need to keep the spider alive in case it is why Nic is out of it?”

The Police officer nods, then he runs to his car and gets a food container, then runs back, and he scoops the spider up and places the lid on the container

“We have to move her out of danger.”

The officer picks up Lilith, and he moves her to a safer location in his car. Then he gets on his radio, “we need paramedics” he looks up at me “, get in. We have to move now” I look over at Kosta, then back at him, and I hand him Mila “look after my daughter and Grandaughter; I have to be here for my son in law.”

I step back from the car and close the door, and then I watch his car disappear down the dirt road

I turn and go back to the police car I arrived in, and I duck down behind it and wait for my moment to get Kosta.

The men surrounding Kosta begin to back away, looking for their escape.

And I watch the police officers begin to get closer and closer to Kosta. When I think they have nowhere to go, a woman with dark hair come by in a boat. And they all make a run for it. Two men get shot and detained while one gets to the ship, and the woman moves away from the shoreline. I take the opportunity to run to Kosta and let him know I am there. I am relieved when he looks up at me and weakly says, “Lilith, we have to get her” I smile “, she is safe now” he closes his eyes and the police call for the ambulance to come and get Kosta medical treatment.” I am relieved when I see the ambulance arrives and gets Kosta the help he requires” I see the second ambulance behind Kostas, and I Run to it. I see Lilith with Drips and a breathing mask on her “will she be ok?” the paramedic smiles. “she will be ok. The spider bite spread through her system, and the stress from all today events have overwhelmed her” I look around. Where is my Granddaughter?” the paramedic's points over my shoulder and smiles “with officer brody, I look over and see Mila wrapped in his Police Jacket, and he is cuddling her. I sigh a relief and wait for him to get closer “thank you”, he hands Mila over to me and smiles “, don't thank me, sir” he kisses Mila on the head and then turns around and leaves

I get into the ambulance and go with Lilith to the Hospital and hope the remaining people are caught.

*Kosta’s POV*

I have a headache from hell, but I'm happy that Lilith and Mila are safe. The paramedic wraps my head in a bandage and then places an IV in my arm. I watch as Lilith’s ambulance drives away. Panic sets in “where are they taking her? Is my baby okay?” the paramedic places her hand on my arm and smiles “, your wife is still unconscious, but your father in law is with your daughter and wife in the ambulance we are getting you fixed up before we leave you will be with them soon.”

I rest against the bed and look up at the roof and blow out a frustrated breath

When the ambulance begins to move, I know I'm getting closer to Lilith. All I want is to hold her in my arms and make sure she is okay.

When we stop, I get taken out of the ambulance and placed in a wheelchair and wheeled to the Room Lilith is the Doctor who assesses me and smiles, “you are a lucky young man. It could have been much worse.” I look over at Lilith and then back at the doctor “will she be okay?” he sits on the end of Lilith’s bed and smiles “she is exhausted, and the spider bite made her fall unconscious, but we have given her antivenom, so that she will wake up soon.” I see Theo sitting in a corner holding Mila, and I sigh relief to see her in his arms. I stand up from the wheelchair, and I notice a nurse come to my side “sir, you shouldn't be doing this” I look at her and shake my head. “I have to be near Nic. I begin walking to Lilith, and when I reach the bed, I notice her face is dirty. Still, she seems ok I sit next to her and place my arm under her and gently move Lilith to the side to get into her bed. When I'm in, I wrap my arms around Lilith and kiss her head. “I'm here, baby.” I hear Theo Giggle then stand up and walk over to us “you gave me a scare Kosta and you know the threat isn't over?” I shift in the bad and sigh, “I know, sir, but what are we going to do? I won't let Natalie win”, he grins “well, I want you and Lilith to lay low for a while so you will be moving out of state and to live in my home in the Hamptons” I sigh and shake my head “she will find it” then shake his head “how when it is in my mother's maiden name and isn't connected to me, or my name remember son we lived like ordinary people never showing our wealth so you will be safe there and it is perfect for Mila” I look up at him and smile “what about work?” he frowns “don't worry about work Kosta I don't expect you or my daughter to work when people want to harm you!” I cock an eyebrow “you know Lilith will want to work right” he laughs “well then you do it remotely I will have the connections scrambled, and I will have your mobile numbers made private” I smile and look down at Lilith “thank you” he pats my shoulder then looks down at Mila “we are going to let you rest I will be back soon with bags for you and Lilith and I will have my people set up the house ready for you both we will move you there when Nic wakes up” I watch him walk out of the room with Mila and I rest my head against the pillows and close my eyes I feel at ease Knowing Theo is doing everything he can to keep us safe

*Theo’s POV*

When I walk out of the room, I call my assistant and have everything put in place to have Kosta and Lilith ready to go to Hampton's. I call my wife and tell her they are safe and sound, but we have to limit the contact we have with our daughter.

Then I make some calls and have Jovan and Jana move to Hampton's. Also, as I know they are no longer safe, Natalie will do anything to get to Kosta and Nic.

Once I have made all the calls, I take Mila to the cafeteria, and I get something to eat. I see a nurse and ask if we can get Mila some formula and a clean nappy and clothes. She leaves then comes back with everything I asked for. I lay Mila on the bench seat and change her.

And I feel a tear run down my face. I don't know when the next time I see My granddaughter, but I know she will be safe. I pick her up and kiss her little head, and then I hold her close and take this moment in before I take her back to Kosta. Maybe we can find a way to be together again, but while Natalie is still on the loose, we can't take any chances.
