chapter 3 The young couple's wedding night

It was already past ten o'clock at night when Siran led Aaron on a shopping trip to purchase his clothes and daily necessities.
Aaron radiated an extraordinary aura, and Siran originally wanted to buy him two sets of better-looking clothes, but the large shopping mall opposite the urban village was closed.
Only the street vendors were still available at this point.
So, Siran led Aaron to the night market stalls.
Vendors and hawkers gathered here. The boss selling stir-fried noodles was shirtless as he prepared the dishes, and the young man selling fruits shouted, "10 yuan for 3 pounds of watermelon. I can slice the fruit open, and I guarantee it's sweet."
If it weren't for Siran, Aaron would never have stepped into this kind of place.
By now, he would have gone home to his mansion, bathed, drank a glass of red wine, read a book about finance, drank a glass of hot milk and went to bed.
Aaron felt out of place in such a noisy and chaotic night market environment.
He even regretted agreeing to Mateo's suggestion of marrying Siran, who was native to such an environment.
But then again, Aaron suppressed his impatience when he thought about how, in a year, Mateo would no longer interfere with his choice of staying single.
Siran first bought daily necessities for Aaron and then chose two sportswear sets.
She got a great deal by buying these sets, costing her only 160 yuan.
After asking about the price, Siran looked at Aaron. "This is the only stall available at this hour, and these are the only two sets of sportswear left. What do you think about them?"
"You want me to wear these?" Aaron frowned, unable to hide the disgust in his eyes.
Siran originally wanted to tell Aaron not to be choosy since he already suffered from bankruptcy.
But then again, she knew she couldn't shame Aaron in public.
After all, men placed utmost importance on their reputation.
So, Siran said tactfully, "I know it's difficult to transition from extravagance to frugality, but you're already in this situation, so just make do with these, okay? They are wearable, too."
Aaron realized that he was indeed being picky.
Besides, Siran was the one paying for his clothes. It didn't make sense for him to continue being so fussy.
Noticing his silence, Siran scanned the QR code and paid. "Boss, remember to give him the sizes suitable for those taller than 6 feet. If not, he wouldn't be able to fit into the clothes."
The stall owner was a woman in her forties with a sallow face.
She kept staring at Aaron after packing the clothes Siran bought into a bag. "Miss, is this your husband? He's so attractive."
She had been operating a stall here for over ten years and had never had such a handsome man patronizing her business.
Aaron was so handsome that maybe even the television celebrities couldn't compare to him.
Those celebrities had makeup on, while the man before the stall owner was present in real life and had a face with features that looked gorgeous from every angle.
Aaron was used to women throwing smitten looks in his direction, but being stared at by a sallow-faced middle-aged woman made him uncomfortable.
He took the bag, held Siran's hand, and left quickly. "Let's go home."
Siran knew he didn't want to be stared at excessively, so he took her hand, wanting to leave.
She cooperated with him. They took a few steps away before Siran retracted her hand from Aaron's.
It was the first time she touched a man's hand after seven years of being single.
She didn't like this feeling.
It was like her safe territory had been invaded.
After Siran withdrew her hand, she fumed, "I don't like people holding my hand casually. You're not allowed to hold my hand next time without my permission."
Aaron waited to respond. He felt like Siran had disdained him.
In the past, those women around him looked forward to him holding their hands.
Although frustrated, Aaron still responded politely, "I'm sorry!"
"Pick up the pace," Siran urged, "It's very late, and I have to go to work tomorrow."
They walked through several alleys, finally arriving before a seven-story self-built house located in the urban village.
Aaron looked at Siran and then at this simple and crude building. "You live here?"
There was an evident disdain in his voice.
He was disgusted by the street stall goods when Siran bought him those clothes earlier.
It was confirmed that the suits he wore looked exquisite. Maybe he had not worn cheap clothing before.
But Aaron was the bankrupt one, with his house and car seized by the bank. He had not a single cent left.
Since that was the case, what right did he have to scorn now?
Siran maintained the most basic courtesy, suppressing the urge to complain about him internally.
"Mr. Shang, were your two previous houses located in a community with a good environment that came with greenery, a community, security guards, and on-call property services?"
That was not all.
There were also maids, personal nutritionists, cleaners, gardeners, drivers, and bodyguards…
But Aaron realized he was now playing the part of a bankrupt man, so he stopped being fussy.
Siran added, "Mr. Shang, if you are bankrupt, you must act like you are bankrupt. The living environment here is indeed a bit bad, but at least it's a shelter to stay in. If you are not desperate, you will not be willing to move here with me. Now that everything turns out this way, you should make peace with your situation. Let's head in and have a good night's sleep. Then, you can consider your next step of action."
Aaron followed Siran's advice and responded, "Thank you for reminding me."
He really should be at peace with himself and the situation.
Who told him to promise his father to do this and make a one-year agreement with him?
He endured it for the sake of his freedom a year later.
Siran's rental house did not resemble a home at all.
Although there was a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room, the combined areas were smaller than a bathroom in Aaron's mansion.
The unaccustomed Aaron no longer expressed any signs outwardly.
There was only one bedroom, so like a gentleman, Aaron offered to sleep on the couch.
That night, one of them slept in the bedroom while the other crammed himself into the compact couch to pass the night.
Siran woke up at four or five o'clock in the morning.
She had been thinking about a question. Aaron asked her for a loan of 100,000 yuan, and she wondered if she should give it to him.
After buying the house, in addition to setting aside some money for her daily expenses, Siran had a savings of 100,000 yuan in her bank card.
If she lent the money to Aaron, she would have no money left.
The commercial house she bought would be handed over to her next month, and her plan to decorate the new house would also come to nothing.
After finally saving enough money to buy a new house, she had long been looking forward to renovating it and living in it to have a decent home finally.
She was reluctant to lend 100,000 yuan of the renovation money to Aaron.
Besides, she had known Aaron for less than twenty-four hours. Siran wondered whether she could trust Aaron enough to loan him the money.
She struggled with this problem through the night. And so, Siran slept until four or five o'clock in the morning before waking up with worry.
At seven o'clock in the morning, she got up and cooked two bowls of noodles.
Aaron was woken up by the noise she made. After washing up, he sat down to have breakfast with Siran.
There were two bowls of noodles on the table. One bowl only had a few stalks of vegetables, and the other had an extra fried egg.
Because there happened to be only one egg left in the refrigerator.
Thinking that Aaron was a man and would expend his energy faster, Siran gave him the bowl of noodles with the egg.
Aaron had never eaten such a simple breakfast before, but since Siran reminded him yesterday, he was no longer picky. Aaron asked, "Don't you want to eat the egg?"
"I'm not a fan of eggs." Siran gulped down a mouthful of noodles.
Aaron looked at her.
Siran made some noise inevitably when she ate.
Even though the way she ate wasn't the worst-looking, she definitely didn't look elegant.
Did she not need to pay attention to her image before Aaron?
At the very least, she shouldn't have to slurp her noodles so loudly.
Aaron was used to those socialites behaving elegantly, talking and laughing dignifiedly before him.
So, he was unaccustomed to Siran's style.
He tucked into his meal, picking up the noodles elegantly as he tried to ignore the slurping sound Siran made.
At this time, Siran stopped and said directly, "Mr. Shang, I want to ask you a question."
"Yes?" Aaron looked at her and said, "Go ahead."
Siran asked, "Why do you want to loan 100,000 yuan from me?"
Aaron thought for a while and made an excuse. "The company has been closed, and the employees must be dismissed, but I am in a hurry to pay their wages."
Siran understood. She stated, "Give me your Alipay account, and I will transfer the money to you now."
"Have you thought it through?" Aaron put down his cutlery and looked at her. "I'm bankrupt. If you lend me these 100,000 yuan, I may not pay you back for quite some time."
Siran had considered the matter the whole night.
She knew what she was doing.
In fact, the reason why she decided to have a flash marriage with Aaron was not entirely because of Musa's confession that put her in a difficult situation.
A small part of the reason was that she had been single for seven years.
And Siran was tired and fed up with that.
She also wanted to find someone to share life with her.
Even if she didn't love her husband, Siran could share her joys and sorrows with him as they supported each other and kept each other company.
Ever since Siran could remember, her parents were divorced, and not wanting to take care of Siran as they sought their happiness, her parents abandoned her.
When she was 21, her boyfriend left her for a rich and beautiful woman.
Siran had experienced the cruelest desertion in the world. She had seen the most sinister side of humans, but Siran still wanted to believe that the world was a beautiful place.
What if Aaron could be the one to prove that to her?
Siran said firmly, "You take the money and pay the wages to your dismissed employees. Then, you should look for a job and start over again. Everything will become better when you work hard."
Aaron was shocked. "Are you really not afraid?"
"What is there to be afraid of?" Siran asked.
Aaron stated, "That I will take the money and flee."
"You're married to me. Where else can you go?" Siran asked.
