chapter 16 What should I do if I take advantage of her?

Aaron had changed Siran's name on his phone to "My Wife, Siran" since the day they registered their marriage.
That was because he was afraid that he would forget Siran's name.
Except for Eddie, none of the executives knew that the long-time single Aaron was married.
They were shocked.
Aaron's face darkened, unhappy that he was interrupted during the meeting. He hung up. "Let's continue."
Siran was anxious because she was distressed over Cara's situation. And so, she called Aaron again.
This time, Aaron answered the call.
But his voice was a little impatient.
"Can you please stop bombarding me with calls? I'm busy. We can talk at home later."
Everyone thought they understood why Aaron got married without informing them. It turned out he wasn't into his wife. If not, he wouldn't have spoken to her so fiercely.
Siran had never asked others for help.
Although the man on the other end of the phone was her husband, Siran was still fidgety when she decided to ask Aaron for help.
Surprisingly, Aaron hung up without letting her say anything.
Maybe Aaron was occupied with work.
Siran felt that she shouldn't disturb him at this hour of the day.
She held her phone and tried to find other ways to help Cara.
At this time, Aaron called her.
She mused, "Isn't he busy?"
Siran couldn't understand why Aaron called her again.
After frowning and pondering briefly, Siran picked up the phone.
Aaron asked, "What were you trying to say just now?"
He had no idea why he called Siran back.
After hanging up the phone on her, Aaron wondered if Siran had something so urgent that she called him twice.
Logically speaking, if Aaron could end Siran's call so decisively and fiercely, he could get immersed in his meeting again quickly.
But he didn't.
Aaron felt restless during the meeting because he feared that Siran had looked for him because of some urgent matter.
So he left the conference room and called her back immediately.
Siran knew Aaron must have spared some free time to call her back.
To save his time, she didn't spend time speaking nonsense.
Siran went straight to the point and told Aaron about Musa's matter.
Aaron replied, "That man is horrible. You shouldn't ask me to help you with this."
People like Musa needed to be taught a lesson. He got what was coming to him by being detained at the police station.
Siran said, "I know. Musa deserved it. But Cara's mother-in-law and sister-in-law told her that if Musa do not return, they will not take care of her children for her. That way, Cara will not be able to work."
Aaron stated, "Then she can go home and focus on raising her children. Cara doesn't have to work with her husband being the breadwinner."
Siran was annoyed when she said, "Do you also think that women have to stay at home to take care of their husbands and raise their children and that they have to play the role of housewives for their children's sake?"
Aaron voiced calmly and indifferently,
"She is the mother of her children. Since her mother-in-law does not want to take care of the children for her, the responsibility of raising the child should fall on her. This is what she should and must do."
"I will not use my social connections again to bail out someone who has nothing to do with me for these matters that have nothing to do with me."
Siran's chest tightened.
It was not because of Aaron's reluctance to help her but because Aaron felt it was only natural for Cara to take care of her children.
Were women destined to raise their kids at home?
"You're right. You have no obligation to help my bestie. But you shouldn't be prejudiced against women."
"You have no idea what is going on in Cara's life. She spent so much effort to care for her children. Yet, Musa not only not thank her for her contribution, but also criticize her for being a housewife that is out of touch with the society. Moreover... he even became attracted to other woman."
"If Cara does not return to the workforce, there will be a day she realize she doesn't have the ability to support herself financially when Musa falls in love with another woman and divorce her."
"She has her reasons for not taking care of her children at home, and choosing to come out to work. You shouldn't say that it's her responsibility to care for the children because Musa should be held responsible too."
Siran was still agitated after she finished her words.
The reason for her agitation was because of Aaron's prejudice against women.
But soon, she regained her rationality and calmed down. Siran said in an aloof voice,
"Forget about the fact that I asked you for help. I'll find another way."
Siran was still furious after she hung up the phone.
Do all men think that women should make sacrifices for their families?
Is it the sole responsibility of women to take care of their kids?
Siran didn't expect Aaron to have these kinds of thinking.
If that was truly what Aaron was thinking, Siran would never give birth to his children in the future.
Aaron called her again while Siran was still feeling frustrated.
"Aren't you busy?" Siran suppressed the anger she felt and spoke in a very distant tone. "You can go on with your business. You don't have to care about me."
Aaron sounded more relaxed. "It's my fault for being presumptous earlier, not understanding what your friend is going through. I realized how difficult her life is after you explained to me."
Siran remained silent.
Maybe Siran was still angry with Aaron.
Aaron noticed her frustration as his voice softened, "I'm sorry. Can you stop being mad at me?"
He added, "What I meant is that a man should make money to support his family and provide a good life for his wife and children. He shouldn't let his wife get tired running around outside. I didn't mean that a woman must be a housewife at home."
Aaron had realized his mistake and apologized to Siran.
She was surprised.
Siran stopped being angry with him. "It's okay. I accept your apology."
Aaron breathed a sigh of relief.
The heavy feeling in his chest vanished when Siran was no longer frustrated with him. "I've already make some arrangements. That man can return home today."
"So fast?" Siran was shocked.
Aaron had indeed saved a famous lawyer.
And Laurence could get Musa released within minutes.
But Laurence was also a famous lawyer in Peng City. He was undoubtedly busy and occupied.
It would take time for Laurence to get this done, even if it was Aaron seeking help.
But now, everything was settled within two minutes.
Siran couldn't help but sigh. "The lawyer you saved thinks highly of you!"
Aaron replied calmly, "I'm his savior."
"But even if you have saved his life, he is also a barrister and a prominent personality in Peng City. He should be busy with his work."
"He is indeed wrapped up in his work. Maybe he just happened to be free and helped solve the problem quickly."
Siran was still pondering when Aaron pondered momentarily before asking, "Siran, you said that Musa is attracted to another woman. Are you referring to yourself?"
Why did he suddenly ask Siran this question?
Siran couldn't react in time.
Did Aaron have such keen eyes?
"You... How do you know?" She was startled.
Aaron couldn't guess the truth so quickly, even if he was observant.
Aaron and Musa had only met twice, and during these two encounters, Siran and Musa were at loggerheads, acting like enemies.
How did Aaron notice that Musa was attracted to Siran under these circumstances?
Siran was amazed by Aaron's profound insight into this matter.
His ability to see through what was on others' minds was incomparable!
Aaron sneered. "No wonder!"
"Why?" Siran asked curiously through the phone.
