"You..."Mateo was momentarily angered by Aaron's words but soon got over it. He told himself that it was okay!
Mateo was waiting for Aaron to regret the words he spoke today.
He knew Aaron would protect and dote on Siran after he fell in love with her!

Meanwhile, Siran and Cara were in a noisy night market.
They sat face to face at a popular barbecue stall.
"Siran, here. Your favourite roasted pork belly." Cara handed it over to Siran. "I grilled it specially for you."
"Cara." Siran was not in the mood to eat barbecue. She frowned. "Is something on your mind?"
Cara buried her head, suddenly becoming depressed as her voice lowered,
"Siran, I know about Musa's harassment of you. I overheard everything when Musa confessed to you in the office that day..."
Siran was not surprised at all. She had already guessed it.
Siran was saddened to see Cara feeling so upset.
But she couldn't find the words to comfort Cara.
Because she was the woman who caused Musa to betray Cara.
It was as if Siran had wronged Cara terribly.
"Cara, I'm sorry. I didn't know that Musa..."
Cara raised her head again after keeping her feelings in check. "Siran, I should be the one apologizing to you. It was Musa who harassed you and put you in a difficult situation."
She said worriedly, "Siran, has Musa given you any trouble in the past two days or found fault with you?"
A scumbag like Musa would definitely hold grudges and take revenge if he didn't get his way.
Cara knew him well.
"You don't need to worry about him. I have my ways to deal with him." Guilt filled Siran. "I knew you found out about the matter because you behaved so abnormally. Do you really not blame me for it, Cara?"
Cara said truthfully, "I felt a little uncomfortable at first. After all, you are my best sister, but the fault of this matter lies with Musa. His feelings changed. Even without you, there will be another woman. Siran, I just want to tell you that even if I have to lose Musa, I don't want my friendship with you to end."
"I don't want to lose a bestie like you too."
Siran was touched. Not only did Cara not blame Siran after learning the truth, but she also worried that Musa would find trouble with Siran.
Cara did not hold Siran accountable. Instead, she cared about Siran's circumstances.
But Siran was frustrated. "Cara, haven't you ever thought about divorcing that scumbag?"
"I would have divorced him a long time ago if it weren't for Hunter and Hayden." Cara looked helpless.
Thinking of the children, Siran swallowed all the words she wanted to say to persuade Cara to divorce.
That was right.
The two children were innocent.
Moreover, Cara's second child was still young and in the breastfeeding stage.
The two best friends chatted for a while.
Finally, Siran concluded,
"Siran, don't overthink this. You have already met someone like Musa. There is no way to start over. You can only work hard to change yourself and make yourself better."
"Don't you always want to be Hunter and Hayden's backing so that they can grow up happily?"
"Put the pain Musa inflicted on you to the back of your mind first. You should work hard and earn a living now."
"Even if you two get divorced in the future, you can show Hunter and Hayden that they have a mother who is optimistic, strong and unbeatable, and you can influence them with your determination, so they, too, will become stronger. Am I right?"
Cara nodded vigorously as tears streamed down her face.
"Siran, you are the only one who can comfort and encourage me and give me strength."
"You can cry longer if you are sad. After crying, we will eat these dozens of barbecue skewers, and then wake up tomorrow and work hard to make money."
"I don't want to cry anymore. Let's tuck into the barbecue skewers."
After a while, Cara calmed down.
The two friends were enjoying their meal when Musa came over carrying Hayden.
"Cara, you are not home when your child is crying his hearts out, and you are still lingering around here eating barbecue skewers. What kind of Mom are you?"
Cara hurriedly picked up the crying Hayden.
He was probably hungry.
Cara didn't care that she was outside, sitting down with her back to the crowd, rolling up her clothes, and breastfeeding the baby.
During this period, Siran went to buy a bottle of water.
Musa had already started a fight with the drunken man eating barbecue at the next table for some unknown reason when Siran returned.
And Hayden was somehow being carried by the lady boss of the barbecue stall.
Meanwhile, Cara was advising Musa to stop the fight for fear of him being beaten up.
The scene was a bit chaotic. Those who drank didn't care that Cara was a woman, as they pushed her away forcefully.
Siran saw that the other party had a lot of people backing him and was afraid that something terrible would happen.
Moreover, the man reeked of alcohol, and the fight could escalate anytime, so Siran quickly called Aaron.
Perhaps it was because Aaron was her husband, so she immediately thought of him when she encountered such troublesome things.
"Aaron, where are you? Can you come over?"
She hurriedly explained the situation to Aaron.
Aaron sounded upset. "You guys went out for a drink and got into fights with others? Who told you to drink alcohol?"
Consuming alcohol was the easiest way to get into trouble.
But Aaron knew now was not the time to scold Siran and was afraid that something might happen to her, so he hurriedly asked, "Where are you?"
"I'm at Chris BBQ stall, near to the street stalls area you came with me last time to get you those sportswear."
Without the time to change, Aaron strode out in his slippers. "Wait for me there. Find a safe place to hide first."
"I can't. They are beating Cara up. I can't talk anymore. I need to help her..."
Aaron didn't want to meddle in such troublesome matters, but he was afraid that something might happen to Siran, so he sped over to Chris BBQ.
Mateo would be devastated if something happened to Siran.
By the time Aaron arrived, the police were already on the scene.
As it was an affray, those involved would be arrested.
Aaron walked over and saw Siran being taken away by the police. "Excuse me. May I know why you're arresting these people?"
"Who are you?" The police officer glanced at Aaron.
Aaron approached Siran, saying, "I'm her husband."
Siran looked at him, apologetic that she had asked him to come over so late at night.
But Aaron didn't look at her reproachfully. He scanned her body, trying to see whether she was hurt. When he saw that her shirt was torn on the back, Aaron asked, "Are you okay?"
Siran shook her head. "Nothing happened to me. It's just a minor wound."
The police officer stated, "Since you are her husband, you shall head to the police station with us."
When they arrived at the police station, they were detained immediately.
The reason was simple and it was because they were participants in an affray.
The men who got into the fight with Musa and the rest were also detained.
Musa called his eldest sister.
Because his eldest sister was married to a local with connections, they would definitely find a way to bail Musa and the rest out of this.
Musa's sister, Yelena Chen, was fuming when she rushed over in the middle of the night and saw the group.
"Musa, do you know that you're in big trouble? You wounded the other person's head severely. You guys will most probably be detained for more than 10 days."
"But he teased Cara first." Musa was disgruntled. "Why can't I hit him?"
Yelena glared at Cara. She didn't care whether Cara was teased by someone or not, saying fiercely,
"It's all your fault. Why did you go out for barbecue in the middle of the night? Shouldn't you take care of your children at home?"
At this time, Siran stood up, voicing, "Ms. Chen, this is not the time to blame anyone. We should find a way out first."
Yelena retorted, "Whose fault could it be if it wasn't Cara's? If she didn't come out to eat barbecue, Musa wouldn't be involved in this. And you! Why did you invite Cara there and caused such a mess?"
Cara said, "Yelena, I was the one who asked Siran to join me there. Please don't blame her for this."
Yelena glared at her. "You two dressed up so skimpily while heading out for a midnight barbecue session. You guys are just asking to be teased!"
Siran retaliated, "Who said women can't go out for barbecue at night?"
They were so noisy.
Aaron looked at them from the side with impatience written all over his face.
He had been locked up in this hellish place for more than an hour.
Aaron was the third master of Shang Corporation with a net worth of 12 figures, and he had contributed more than half of Peng City and the province's GDP. Even the big shots with higher ranks than him had to treat him politely.
Aaron had never been so wronged that he had to be detained in a small police station like the one he was at currently.
His face was dark. "Can you guys stop being so noisy?"
Siran looked sideways at him. "Aaron, I'm sorry. I dragged you into this mess."
Aaron said solemnly: "Let's get out of here first."
"Get out?" Musa growled, "My eldest brother-in-law is so influential around here, and even he can't bail us out of this. Yet, you're thinking of leaving? Who do you think you are?"
Seeing that Aaron was wearing a pair of slippers and street stall goods costing only a few dozen yuan, Musa sneered. "Please don't overexaggerate your own capabilities."
Yelena asked, "Musa, is he the poor guy that Siran entered a flash marriage with?"
Musa snorted. "That's right. He's broke and useless. Yet, he thinks he's all that!"
Aaron hated Musa's attitude.
He said with a frosty expression, "If you beg me now, maybe you can leave with me later."
"Beg you?" Musa snorted. "I'm afraid you don't know who you are. You're just a poor peasant who comes from the countryside with no money, power or background. If you have a way to get out of this, I'll eat up my poo!"
Aaron sneered, not speaking further.
He looked at the policeman standing nearby and asked for a phone call.
After making the call, he sat aside and waited for his subordinate to arrive.
In less than half an hour, Aaron's man arrived.
The person who came in was a man in a suit and leather shoes wearing glasses. He looked successful and had a domineering aura, seemingly a big shot at first glance. But when he saw Aaron, he walked over respectfully. "Third..."
