What a bastard!
Siran clenched her fist tightly, feeling an urge to punch Musa.
He was a despicable piece of trash.
But Siran didn't want to create a big fuss in the office, lest let their dozen or twenty employees see them arguing. It would make the others feel that the two bosses were not getting along, thus affecting their work.
Besides, hitting Musa would only dirty Siran's hands.
She slowly unclenched her fist, suppressed her anger and then said straightforwardly,
"Musa, I've already told Cara to sign the contract and stamped it with the official seal."
"If you don't let Cara to come back to work, I will ask Cara to take the contract to the labor arbitration to sue you. After all, you are the legal representative of the company."
"The labor arbitration is very protective of workers in small companies. If you are not afraid of lawsuits, then you can ask Cara to go home."
Musa was aware of this.
He didn't expect Cara to be so determined in her decision this time.
He asked angrily, "Siran, did you tell Cara about what happened during the business trip?"
Otherwise, why did Cara suddenly change her mind and request to return to the workforce?
"Musa, how dare you mention such a shameless thing?"
"What would I be embarrassed to mention that incident? I haven't really slept with you. Did you complain about me to Cara, wanting to ruin our relationship?"
"You! I..."
Siran was speechless.
How could there exist a scumbag like Musa who made bogus accusations when he was the one at fault?
Siran, who could control her emotions well, was so frustrated that she felt like puking blood.
Musa continued, "I asked Cara why she was quarreling with me. It turns out that you are sowing discord between us. Why are you so wicked? I just said that I like you, and being liked by me means that I think highly of you. Besides, I didn't do anything to you, but you actually took revenge on me in such a manner. Are you happy, now that we quarreled?"
Siran exploded with fury.
But she couldn't use typical worldviews to communicate with the asshole Musa.
What was there to say to a person whose worldviews and moral values were not the same level as hers?
Siran didn't want her emotions to be controlled by others, so she quickly suppressed the anger in her heart, regained her rationality and calmness and said coolly,
"Musa, Cara doesn't need my opinion to discover her direction in life. You know how outstanding she was before she married you."
"Also, I won't stand by and watch you bully Cara, not on my watch."
"I rejected your request to have sex, so if you want to exact revenge, come at me. I'm unafraid of you."
She said the most ruthless and intimidating words in the calmest and clearest tone.
As expected, Musa did not dare to look down upon her and began to feel a little frightened.
Siran was a challenging woman to deal with.
Cara ignored Musa when he returned home at night.
She gave him the cold shoulders when he took the initiative to talk to her.
Cara went to the balcony to keep the clothes, and Musa followed behind her, feeling a little guilty.
"Cara, did Siran talk badly about me before you?"
After putting away the clothes, Cara folded them one by one with a numb and indifferent expression on her face.
"Cara, did you find out about what happened between Siran and I during the business trip?"
Cara didn't want to be reminded of that matter, for it was the last straw that broke her.
Musa resorted to sophistry. "Cara, it was Siran who seduced me. She wanted to sleep with me, but I rejected her."
"..."
"Cara, don't believe Siran if she says anything terrible about me. I guess she was lonely and wanted to be with a man after a long period of being single, and decided to hit on me because of my handsome appearance."
"..."
"Cara, you can't trust an outsider and choose not to believe your husband's words."
Cara, who was folding clothes, halted in her action.
She looked at the shameless and despicable man before her.
Musa had made a move on Siran but was now blaming everything on the other party.
What a piece of shit!
Wait, he was even worse than shit.
At this time, Musa began to coax Cara again,
"Cara, don't be so frustrated that you want to return the company to work. Just stay here to take care of our children and Mom."
"Mom has back pain. How can she endure the exertion of taking care of Hayden?"
"Besides, how can a sensible woman like you bear to see my mom suffering?"
Cara had utterly lost all faith in the man before her.
Every time Cara had a conflict with her mother-in-law, Musa would coax and praise her, asking her to be more sensible and give in to the older woman.
It was because she was too unprincipled, too limitless in her tolerance and too kind that she allowed Musa's family to bully her so relentlessly.
But now, Cara didn't want to be unscrupulous anymore.
"Musa, your mom will suffer if she does the housework or take care of the children. But what about me? I deserve to be fatigue and to suffer, is it?"
"I'm so busy every day. Your mom said she find it difficult to carry Hayden, I have to bring the sleeping Hayden along even as I send Hunter to school. My back hurts from carrying the baby every day. Have you ever cared for me?"
She had complained to Musa about this before, but Musa always told Cara that she was still young and should not compare herself with the elderly.
In the end, Cara didn't bother to speak her mind anymore.
"Yes, you are a filial son, and you don't want your mom to be tired. I really have no right to ask her to help me take care of the children I gave birth to."
"But she's your mom. If she doesn't help me, why should I respect her?"
"If you think it's too hard for your mom to take care of the children, you can come back to care for the children and her. I will go out and work as I can earn money too."
"Anyway, the children are yours, and so is your mom. I won't agree on staying here and continuing to be the free nanny..."
"Why are you so immature..." Musa fumed, "You are..."
Cara said determinedly, "Also, Musa Chen, don't pin the blame on Siran. I don't want to expose the dirty thoughts you have in mind."
"How can you trust that bitch and not your husband?"
"You're the bastard, and you are not allowed to say that about my bestie."
"Why are you standing up for an outsider?" Musa looked confident on the surface, but he was actually feeling guilty.
Cara's voice was amused, sad and pitiful when she replied,
"Musa, we can live the rest of our life in this manner for the sake of our two children, but don't try to control me in the future, and don't ask me to be a free nanny."
With that said, Cara walked into the living room with the neatly folded pile of clothes.
Musa strode up and grabbed her arm so hard that it hurt. Just as she was about to shake Musa loose, their eldest daughter, Hunter, ran out of the room.
Not wanting Hunter to see them arguing, Cara stopped struggling forcefully.
"Mom, I've finished reading the extracurricular books and I'm going to bed. You have to come and hug me before I sleep."
"Okay. I will come over after I organize these clothes."
No matter how bad her mood was or how painful she felt, Cara still maintained the gentlest smile in front of her daughter.
But no one knew how hurt and helpless she was beneath her smile.
After Hunter returned to the room, Cara broke free from Musa's grip.
"I don't want to quarrel with you in front of the children. If you have anything else to say, wait until the children are away before you speak."
After putting her two children to bed, Cara arranged a meetup with Siran.
It was already half past ten at night.
Siran was about to go to bed. After receiving Cara's call, she glanced at Aaron, who had just walked out of the bathroom.
"Cara wants to meet me. Do you want to go with me? Cara is my best friend. I can bring you along so you can meet her."
Siran's friends were like her, coming from the bottommost rank in the society.
Aaron saw no value in meeting them.
Aaron didn't hesitate. "I don't want to go."
Siran really wanted Cara to meet Aaron, so she added, "Let's go. We can have barbecue together. The barbecue at that roadside stall is particularly delicious."
That kind of roadside stall was so dirty that Aaron wouldn't want to eat them even if he starved. "I don't like barbecue. You can go there by yourself."
Sitting on the couch, Mateo glared at Aaron and said, "Just go with Siran. It's unsafe for her to return alone at this late hour."
"If it's not safe, don't go out," Aaron said before entering the room.
Mateo hurriedly comforted Siran. She smiled indifferently, speaking, "Dad, it's okay. I'll be back soon. Do you want me to bring you a midnight snack?"
"You want to bring me a midnight snack?"
Mateo didn't have the habit of eating supper. He was maintaining his health and would not eat after eight o'clock in the evening.
But he had to find a reasonable reason to wait for Siran to return home safely, so he said happily, "Okay, anything is fine."
"Dad, I'll buy beef chowder for you, okay?"
"Sure."
With that said, Siran hurriedly headed out to meet Cara.
After sending Siran off with worry, Mateo went into Aaron and Siran's room directly without knocking on the door.
At this time, Aaron was picking up Siran's pillow. He just thought that Siran smelled nice. He didn't know what the scent was, so he wanted to take a whiff of her pillow to find out.
Aaron was startled when Mateo walked in. He pretended to put the pillow behind him and then said frostily, "Why didn't you knock on the door before you came in?"
Mateo asked instead, "Why didn't you head out with Siran? You should have agreed to go with her if she wants you to meet her bestie. After meeting her best friend, you can ensure Siran's safety when she returns. How come you, as her husband, does not know how to care for your wife?"
"Dad," Aaron voiced unhappily, "You are aware of the circumstances surrounding our marriage. I even agreed to your request for me to stay in her house. You have no right to ask me to protect and pamper her."
